The silver lining is that it seems the Godzilla/Kong films are seen as their safest bets. If any Legendary films in production stall, I doubt those three would be among them.

I bet anything that when the crew are on their journey to Skull Island, somewhere in the distance they will see giant rows of spikes protruding from the surface and suddenly disappear :D

According to Tom Hiddleston, Skull Island is now situated in the South Pacific (and not the Indian Ocean). Are we seeing the beginning of Monster Island? (or Faro or Mondo Island?).

Nice: the first official bit of promotion! I imagine we may get a teaser during convention season, since the film does come out very early next year and all,

Joe DeVito claims he created the universe surrounding King Kong's mysterious home and his pitch for a TV series was turned into a feature film without giving him compensation or credit.

And to think this thread started as a discussion of that very novel!

It seems this movie has little to do with DeVito's novel story, but he might have a leg to stand on if he harps on his getting the germ of the Kong idea out there among the studios and thus the ball rolling. I imagine we'll hear something about an 'undisclosed sum' given out and the lawsuit with disappear.

I read the book, and the story was mediocre. I'm glad what we know about the film so far doesn't follow that boring story. The name is very similar.

Toby Kebbell clears up his motion capture role in the film: he primarily provided a facial performance, while Kong will primarily be played by Terry Notary.

I see a face in the shrubbery, but I think that's just a coincidence.

Roberts says Kong is 100 feet tall in Skull Island.

I like it. It sets up Kong being really big; bigger than in '33 and '05, but he's not too big to not notice humans, you know? Maybe Kong is still a 'teenager' and gets to be about twice as big in Godzilla vs. Kong. I like the idea of there still being a big size difference between them,

I like it. I'm sure they'll scale him up for the fight, but this is a good size to start with.

If he's fighting Dinosaurs of similar size then we've got all kinds of kaiju running around.

If they're from Skull Island I can't imagine them being revealed in this film. Rodan seems most like a Skull Island inhabitant, but I feel like we'll probably get Dinosaurs and the like in this film.

I really hope we get more monstrous looking dinosaurs rather than the cookie cutter T-Rex's we are used to seeing in movies.
