Some cool visuals I guess, but McCarthy and Wiig are comedic poison to me and Leslie Jones is so wildly unfunny in this trailer, I don't think this movie can rebound from me thinking 75% of the team is garbage.

I don't think this is crapping all over the "Ghostbusters Legacy" (which I don't think exists. I love the first movie but don't care about Ghostbusters as a franchise) or anything like that...but it just doesn't look good or interesting or funny. I feel bad for McKinnon...a movie with more people cut from her cloth might have been fun and funny. She looks like the loan bright spot among the murky fog of Kristen Wiig's offputting facial expressions and awkwardness, and McCarthy and Jones' shrieking and over-the-top "I'm the female Chris Farley"-ness.

My thoughts on this new Ghostbusters movie are pretty much the same. The new movie doesn't seem like it will be terrible, but at the same time I'm not sure that it will be quite on par with the previous entries. To be fair, I think the new movie may have a decent chance of hitting the GB2 window though it is has already been suffering from the nostalgia factor.

The coveralls for the new movie have always seemed kind of dull to me. I know they're coveralls so I'm not expecting much, maybe it's the safety orange stripes that throw me off, they kind of overwhelm the distinctive Ghostbuster patches. The reflective silver tone strip seems nice though, perhaps if the safety orange and reflective silver were swapped on the overalls (IE two silver and one safety orange stripe in the bands).

Also, I get why they went with a Cadillac hearse for the new Ecto-1, but the new movie could have instead gone with the van style ambulance that has become common type nowadays.

EDIT: Just spotted this fan edited cut of the new trailer elsewhere on the internet. Seems like it's little stronger of a teaser than the official one, have a look:

Some one else said somewhere else that all the ghosts look more like something from the live action Scooby Doo movies.

The ghosts looking a little more cartoonish could be purposeful choice, particularly if Kate Mckinnon's character, Jillian Holtzmann, takes some inspiration from the blond version of Egon in The Real Ghostbusters. Aspects of the movie may borrow a little influence from the cartoons The Real Ghostbusters and the later Extreme Ghostbusters.

We saw a new trailer with BvsS last week and it was even worse than the first one. I'm not sure if I said this here before, but I feel like this is more "Scary Movie" than Ghostbusters.

Apparently word has leaked that the recent test screenings they've done have been met with abhorrent reviews. Sony is panicking and the movie basically botches everything.

The most egregious thing I've heard is how badly it mishandles the female empowerment message. Evidently, Leslie Jones (who apparently basically just shouts ALL of her dialogue) tells a little girl "Don't never let nobody tell you what kind of b*tch you are. Be the b*tch you want to be."

In the original Ghostbusters, Winston was a blue collar everyman. He was truly treated like an equal on the team. From the trailer of the new film, Leslie Jones looks like a character from a modern day minstrel show. I almost want to see it in theaters to say I was there for this train wreck.

The problem for me with all the doomsaying leaks about this movie, no matter how numerous they are, is that all of 'em seem at least slightly tinged with misogyny, or at least a subtle a$$holishness, which makes me take them with a grain of salt no matter how reasonable or well informed they otherwise seem. I have no horse in this race, and the movie might very well be horrible, it's just that those who've been blaring the horns declaring doom keep raising red flags. I mean, those videos mr.negativity posted a few weeks ago seem plausible until it goes off into a tangent for a minute saying that Mad Max: Fury Road's feminist leanings cost that film in the box office. I mean, what the heck?!

Boy who cried wolf principle: don't be a jerk, because it makes people doubt you even when you tell the truth.
