So I take it by what was said that the three remakes will be ignored? Not a good or bad thing. Just wondering... This could be a good film. I've been a long-time fan of the original. Saw the first remake, but not the 2 follow-ups. Just as long as they reintroduce the wild designs for the cars and the driver uniforms. Don't just make the vehicles into monstered-up "Fast & Furious" rejects. That was one area where the remake definitely suffered. The outlandishness was a big part of the charm of the original flick.

I guess Mad Max returning with a sequel after so long has inspired him to make a sequel to a movie long forgotten (and one of which I have never seen).

Kain, if you have a Blu player you NEED to pick up the HD remaster of DR2k. It's a terrific satire on America's obsession with TV & reality shows, sports figures as heroes, worthless politicians and figureheads in politics, etc. Early turn by Stallone as a bad guy and a slick David Carradine making for a heroic yet stoic "Frankenstein." Cleaver plot, great black comedy, terrific racing action footage and satire thicker than whale blubber. I'd be very surprised if you didn't love it.
