I recently rewatched the film. There's actually four scenes that focus on the monster clearly.

-When they are entering the subway.

-Running to the helicopter.

-When they are viewing the monster from above from said helicopter.

-And when the monster is looming over Hud.

These are even featured in the video and I can't see how they are too short or unclear.

I used to like EWW, but then the videos got BLOATED and they stopped being funny and started just being nitpicky and dumb and called things "wrong" that aren't actually wrong. Honest Trailers is miles better.

Yeah, they have gotten very nitpicky.
I do agree with the EWW Cloverfield video though.

As I said on the reddit thread.

I REEEEEAAAAALLLLLY hope that in the final cut that neither A) the light ends up being a helicopter or B) it hard cuts to black with a monster roar to the credits at that point.

Could totally see either happening.

So what did we learn? For starters, this is not Cloverfield 2.

Preliminary reviews are quite positive, so I'm going to see it kaiju or not.

Plot details for J.J. Abrams latest sci-fi film had been kept extremely under wraps. Even Winstead’s agents couldn’t read the script

Saw it. Enjoyed it. Not sure how well I'll like it on repeat viewings. Throughout the entire film, I felt a little impatient. Wanting to get to the ending to see what it was all about and how, or if, anything else in the film tied into that ending. Although, i have to say John Goodman was acting his ass off in this film, I feel like his work in this film is going to be over shadowed by the mystery/mystique of the whole JJ/Cloverfield aspect of the movie.

But if JJ and crew want to make a Halloween 3-esque anthology movie series, sure. Just don't make all of them M.Night endings. Cloverfield didn't really have a twist ending, they just hid the monster in most of the pre-release advertising. Do more like that.

Saw it. Liked it. However, I think it should have been called something else. I went in with an idea of what a "Cloverfield" meant, and this movie's story doesn't really apply. It felt a little slapped on at the last minute too. I can't specify more without spoilers.

Is there any reference to the monster or the first movie? If not why are they in the bunker?

I thought it was really well made, it actually makes me wish the first film was filmed traditionally and not handheld. It's very much a spinoff/anthology type film like Halloween III, and I hope the series continues in that manner. It'd be nice to have a weird creature feature every few years along with all the other giant monster projects in the works.

A lot of the Easter eggs scattered throughout the movie are more Bad Robot and less Cloverfield if that makes any sense... the same tidbits you'd find in Lost or Star Trek. In fact this could have been titled 10 Super 8 Lane and it wouldn't have made much of a difference.

The creatures are cool but the real standouts here are the human performances. The three main actors do a tremendous job with their characters.

I saw this last night. It's not often that a movie keeps me guessing and legitimately surprises me from beginning to end. 10 Cloverfield Lane did that and I loved it. I'm so glad I avoided spoilers and any promotional material beyond the initial teaser and poster.

Sharp direction, clever writing, strong character development and outstanding performances from the three leads are what make this picture. It's an intense and claustrophobic thriller, totally riveting and unnerving. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is a badass, John Goodman is brilliantly disturbing, and John Gallagher Jr. is downright lovable.
