Ha, ha, yeah. This one's so easy it almost isn't funny. Terror of Mechagodzilla.
BFE is so far down my list not much short of GINO could lose to it.

wow... I had to go back and read the first post, I thought it was Mothra vs Godzilla (64) for a minute, and was perplexed, but now I know why  . TOMG all the way, I don't think G vs M (92) will get any votes.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

Terror of Mechagodzilla. I actually find the ending of this movie sadder than Godzilla vs. Destroyah despite the goofy costume.

ToMG actually gets one invested in its characters. Destroyah, not so much.

Yeah I was waiting for some of the Shin-Gojira hype to die down, but then got called into action with lots of traveling lately. I'll probably put one up soon.

Terror of MechaGodzilla crushes Godzilla vs. Mothra '92. 15 to 0.

Game 23:

G54 wins against Sea Monster.

And as Danny said, Mothra vs. Godzilla has a legit chance to take out 54, assuming it can get past KoTM.

Godzilla 1954. Despite giving it the benefit of the doubt multiple times, I cannot get into Sea Monster.

Hrmm. These were two of my earliest G films and definately two of my most frequently watched as a kid. This was largely due to their readily available-ness at the local blockbuster and the fact that Sea Monster was the second (after Godzilla's Revenge) G VHS I owned. But we're not voting on KOTM but rather the original Japanese cut here, which I didn't see until that classic media double DVD set that came out when I was well into adulthood. So if I were voting on nostalgia alone Sea Monster would get it.

These two films (well, the American cuts of them) were also largely responsible for defining to my childhood self just who Godzilla was (ironic considering Sea Monster was originally written for kong...). And this is still largely what I gravitate to when defining the core qualities that make godzilla who he is. He was terrifying and something to be feared. He was no friend of humans (even the good guys) and he was always ready for a fight. And he was absolutely, intrinsically linked to the sea. It was his home and he was just as, if not more comfortable under water as he was on land.

While the Original. G54 is no doubt the better film, I'd argue Sea Monster is more fun. The human cast is awesome, the 60's James Bond vibe is fun, the Red Bamboo are great villains, and I've always loved Ebirah. Combine those strengths with the tremendous amount of nostalgia I have for this movie and I think I'm gonna have to vote for Godzilla vs the Sea Monster.

If Sea Monster had been a Kong movie as originally intended, we may have never gotten King Kong Escapes, which means no Linda Miller!! ::swoons::

So i am voting for Linda Miller ::swoons:: unless i'm not allowed a write-in, in which case i vote for Sea Monster.. because Linda Miller ::swoons::

I'm gonna cast a vote for Sea Monster. Much as I love the original, on any random given day, I'd rather watch Sea Monster.
