Man, it's like no time has passed for Bruce Campbell. Being Ash just comes naturally to him!

I also like how Bruce actually looks really good (he's slimmed down considerably from his chubbiness of the last decade), and yet it looks like we're gonna get 'Ash is old' gags at a pretty rapid clip.

THIS SHOW IS AMAZING! If you are a fan of the original Evil Dead Trilogy then this show is for you. The humor, the gore, the deadites are all perfect. The first episode feels like a fourth EVIL DEAD film. Sam Raimi knocked it out of the park on this one and Bruce Campbell is as awesome as always. 9.5/10. My only critique is some of the cgi used was bad but the practical effects were beautiful.

This was so much fun, I didn't even care that it seems like they re-wrote the canon, or at least opted for a much more ambiguous take on whether the previous timeline happened exactly the way we've seen in the first three Evil Dead films. Aside from some BAD CGI, everything about this was just exactly the way I would have wanted it to be.

When he was wearing that red shirt, and ripped it off and underneath was wearing his typical blue shirt, I nearly died. I can't wait to see how this show pans out as a whole.

So awesome. Yeah, CG is cruddy, but everything else is pretty damn perfect. I just can't wait to get more into Lucy Lawless' character and that cop lady.

And I love love love love the deadite chatter.

I just wonder if Ash will get a more articulated hand so that his arm doesn't look so long or it looks like he's just wearing a wood painted glove.

Super glad a second season was already given a greenlight, I can already tell I won't be able to get enough of this show.

So we watched the first episode to the Evil Dead tv show and I found it to be mediocre. It had some runny bits, and some good horror moments, but overall, it is just trying to rehash the same jokes over without the spark that made them funny in the first place. The CGI is down right terrible though and there is way too much of it. The effects in the original Evil Dead look far superior. Overall, meh, unless you worship everything with the near mention of Bruce Campbell and must see this, there's not point in really going out of your way to watch it. Hopefully it gets better quickly, but right now, I'm not sure I even want to watch the next episode.

Implying that people only like it because they are Bruce Campbell fanboys is to ignore all the things the show does well that could legitimately be winning people over.

Does it callback to SOME of the same jokes? Yes. The pots to the face was very much similar (though different enough to still be fun) to the plates to the face in Evil Dead II, but then there's stuff like the light bulbs. In three previous movies, we've NEVER seen Ash in the real world (well, for about 32 seconds at the end of AoD, depending on which cut you're watching). Seeing him oaf it up with the light bulbs was hilarious. Also, I nearly DIED laughing when he ripped off his red shirt and was wearing the blue shirt underneath.

Also, there's definitely BAD CGI, but there were also a lot of good practical effects moments. The head spinning around, the impalements, the blown off head stump body lying on the ground, lots of good little practical effects moments.

It's a TV show, it's gonna have some bad CGI, I knew that going in. It doesn't ruin the show at all. I'm a Godzilla fan, I can overlook bad effects if the story and the characters are cool and fun.

That's because I copied and pasted what I wrote on Facebook.

Anyway, at least this show is better than that god awful remake from a few years ago.

I think the remake is just awful. Completely missed the point of Evil Dead by trying to make it dark and edgy. Not to mention the characters were just down right stupid as ****. It should have been called Darwinism The Movie. I don't are if they wanted to make Ash a girl, but don't do this whole "She is a drug addict and needs our help" crap. It added nothing to the movie as it served no purpose to the overall plot. And then they went and did the chainsaw arm just because "Hey look, this is a remake of Evil Dead, SEE!! LOOK!! IT HAS A CHAINSAW ARM!!!"

Episode 2 was even better than the first. Every line out of Bruce Campbell's mouth was golden. Almost all the spfx in this episode were practical. My only complaint was the episode was 30 minutes long instead of an hour.

I had mixed feelings about last nights episode of Ash vs Evil Dead. On the one hand we learned more about the Necronomicon and the demon that was summoned was pretty cool. On the other hand I didn't think the direction was that good and and there weren't very many Evil Dead camera shots. Also the cop sure does get knocked out a lot. Can't be healthy for her...

Season finale ran this past weekend. I had a lot of fun with this show, and it feels like the creators of the show did as well. Looking forward to a season 2, but would be fine if they left it where it ended.

We watched 6-10 today and the show got quite enjoyable. They even turned Kelly into a badass which was amazing because her actress is terrible. I think the end was just a dream sequence and the next season is going to start off with him stabbing the Dark One. The only thing I didn't like about the show was the god awful CGI. The CG blood splatters were abhorrent but I think it is the CG tongue that Fisher made in one scene that really took the cake for worst effect of the entire series. I do look forward to season 2.

I'd say most of it was faithful to Evil Dead. The only negative being that Ash seems to have turned into a total moron. He might have been dumb in the originals, but he was very smart. Here, he is as bright as coal.

I do hope they actually talk about Army of Darkness in the next season as I'm tired of them ignoring it outside of one "Boomstick" joke.
