The 1933 Kong might not even be canon to this film. This Kong is going to be gigantic, so they might just be retelling the story to set up GvsK.

So, are we expecting Kong to be fighting dinosaurs or what? I think this "Skull Island" is the last place on earth that resembles what the prehistoric age of when Godzilla and the MUTOs roamed the earth freely. I wouldn't be surprised if there were actual KAIJU on this island to show Kong can handle kaiju sized monsters.

Just for fun, the "fictional" coordinates for Skull island (from the 1933 and 2005 remake) are here:

pretty much dead center in the Indian Ocean. That must have been a heck of a long trip from NY and Back. Both the fictional Faro Island, and Mondo island are supposedly in the South Pacific.

^this was part of a post I recently made in the KK vs G 2 thread, however I tried to educate myself, because not much is ever mentioned that I recall about the exact route taken. I imagine the ship probably would have gone through the Suez Canal, to avoid going around the African continent. Still the journey would have been pretty long. However I seem to recall (don't know in which Kong film ), there being some mention of Singapore,(perhaps an intended destination, or a side destination) which would have been even further than Skull Island. Prior to the Suez & Panama Canals however, traveling from the Eastern Coast of the United States, to anywhere in the Orient was a long, long journey.
There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

I'm wary of moving this thread into one of the Godzilla sub-forums, honestly. It's not a Godzilla movie, even if it winds up crossing over with Godzilla down the line. Rodan and Mothra aren't moved into the Godzilla section just because Ghidrah winds up incorporating them into its continuity. And since I don't have admin powers, only mod powers, I'm incapable of creating/modifying/editing/deleting any of the actual sub-forums themselves...(believe me, I'd like to. I want to streamline the overall number of sub-forums and everything in general anyway, but alas, I lack the supreme executive power to do so)

We still have individual movie threads for all the various MCU films, and a separate MCU thread for the various news, crossover stuff, television things, etc, no reason we can't have individual film threads for every "Godzilla Universe" film, and a "Legendary Pictures' Kaiju Cinematic Universe" thread in the Legendary Godzilla sub-forum.

I can alter the thread titles, though!

I have a feeling this film is going to introduce our Rodan and Mothra for Godzilla 2.

That doesn't sit right with me. This should be Kong's movie. It's alright for him to fight 'normal' prehistoric creatures but stuff like Toho characters would seem really out of place. It's like the Falcon's extended cameo in Ant-Man. It's so forced and detracts from the main story.

As for the story, I'm assuming it'll be a guilty Denham keeping Kong alive with the island's serum - or whatever it turns out to be. But it has some side effects, like increasing his size. So if he continues taking it to 2020, he should be ready to take on Godzilla.

Perhaps they are anxious to re-create this classic scene, if they are considering Rodan.

Maybe they could have a proto-rodan... and he and kong battle to a stalemate.

So, do you think Kong will be kaiju sized at the get go, or grow over time? I believe I heard a rumor that the

I honestly just want him to be big at the get go. I'd even be down for having MULTIPLE Kongs being different sizes. I mean, it's not unrealistic to think that there's gonna be more than one Kong since there were multiple MUTOs. I think I'll have a real sour taste in my mouth if Kong is "normal" sized in this and there's not mention of him growing. It wouldn't make sense how it would lead up to GvsKong if the size issue isn't resolved in this.

I'm honestly thinking that Skull Island is the last place(lost) on earth that resembles the "prehistoric era" that Godzilla, the MUTOs, Kong and others lived on before modern times.

Will there be dinosaurs in this movie? Do you think Universal will let Warner Bros. take Kong and use dinosaurs in the movie? They did make a billion dollars on JW. I don't think they'll let another studio cash in on the dinosaur craze.

The only dinosaur that WB couldn't use from Universal would be Indominous Rex everything else is fair game.

Wow, judging from those cars I'm gonna guesstimate that the creature that skeleton belongs to was... about Showa Godzilla sized?
