Origin does not mean prequel.

Batman Begins is an origin movie and it isn't a prequel to any prior Batman flick. The same goes for Man of Steel, The Amazing Spider-Man, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Mask of Zorro...

Well, as I'm sure most of you already know, Simmons and Keaton have dropped out of the film. The reason given is scheduling conflicts: production has been delayed from what originally was this Fall to a rather vague "before the end of the year." Hiddleston is still attached, presumably in the starring role.

I understand these things happen, but losing two great actors bums me out because as a Kong fanatic I really, really want the film to be great.

im still encouraged that those actors were sought after and signed on in the first place. Gives me hope for a decent script. With a change in production time, they were bound to lose some of the principle cast, since these guys already have other jobs lined up.

Of all the upcoming giant monster projects in Hollywood (and there are quite a few) this probably just dropped to the least interesting.

Well I'm really sorry to hear that Simmons and Keaton won't be in it, but on the other hand Legendary may get them back for Godzilla 2. Sorry to get off topic but if Keanton alone is in Godzilla 2, it would be just as awesome as Cranston being in Godzilla (2014). I hope this happens!

I really like Brie Larson. She's one of those actors who can become unrecognizable from roll to roll just by virtue of acting differently. I've gone "wait, is that Brie Larson?" a couple of times.

i'm still digging whoever the casting director is. Hopefully this is a sign of a good script... but Legendary did manage to get Julianne Moore and Jeff Bridges to sign on for Seventh Son..

Everyone is gushing over Brie Larson being cast...and I'm over here scratching my head saying, "Who?" I looked up her IMDB and the only thing I've ever seen her in was Don Jon. I've never heard of most of her filmography.
