Mothra. The movie has massive, massive flaws, but they seem incidental to SG's. The concept of SG himself is interesting, but nearly every facet of the movie falls flat. Moguera's revival is a nice touch of nostalgia, but his mated-vehicle design is more sad than silly. Little Godzilla's design and execution is excruciating. Miki's sci-fi-ier plot is baffling. Most of the human drama is lacking and the acting itself falls right in line with it. It's just a poor, poor effort.
As a Godzilla movie, the biggest problem with GvM is that Godzilla himself feels like an afterthought. I swear someone at Toho dusted off a prospective Mothra script and just added Godzilla, since the focus of the film is clearly the conflict between Mothra and Battra. The humans don't fare a whole lot better here, but there is at least an attempt at grounding them in a recognizable family unit. Battra is a great design, one of my favorite Heisei kaiju (just wish they'd given him an original voice instead of the not-even-modulated Rodan roar).
Pretty clear-cut decision for me here.
I'm not a hero. I'm not a savior. Forget what you know.
I'm just a man whose circumstances went beyond his control.
