^Tentacles is a really, really dull Jaws rip-off that's all older Hollywood greats slumming it and the monster octopus that is mainly awkward footage of a real octopus with no attempt to make it seem big.

... but it looks pretty good on the Blu-Ray. Reptilicus is a faithful transfer of the print for the American version as-is, but don't expect a pristine picture quality. I don't imagine there'll be a company willing to give Reptilicus an intensive remastering job!

I see. In that case, maybe I won't make a priority of picking it up. Owning Reptilicus would be somewhat worthwhile, but I can't see myself watching Tentacles.

Aren't Monster That Challenged the World and IT! Both either already or soon to be out on bluray?

^Yeah, and the Yorga films will be out before the end of the year. I haven't seen any of these films since I was very little and my memory is a bit hazy in regards to their quality, so I was hesitant to plunk down $20-$30 each for 'em, but around $6 for Midnite Movie double features is just fine for now.

Got the Godzilla Criterion Blu-Ray during the Barnes & Noble Sale.
Was tempted for a second to get that Horror Comes to Shochiko (or whatever) but spending $30 just for the X From Outer Space seemed kinda silly (especially since it's only DVD).

I just recently bought that Mothra 1, 2, &3 set on Blu-ray. It was really cheap (I think it was like seven dollars or something), and I had never seen Mothra 3. I couldn't believe it came with digital copies. Extremely cool. The movies weren't spectacular, but I wasn't too disappointed with the transaction.

^Neato!

I just got back from B&N and I've had my most prolific Critereon sale yet, clocking in at 10 items overall.

... unfortunately, when I opened Rashomon I saw that the case was busted. Back to the store (tomorrow)!

Picked these up. Got the Batman thing because I'm in a Batman-y kind of mood. Creature is in prep for October HALLOWEEN VIEWINGSSS

I picked up the "Jurassic Collection" DVD set from Best Buy for$5.. it isn't really all that Jurassic but it includes these 7 movies:
The Giant Gila Monster, The Killer Shrews, The Phantom from 10,000 Leagues, Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet, Creature, Piranha , and Attack of the Giant Leeches

also upgraded my Cloverfield to Bluray for $5

I love all these movies. It Follows is the best horror movie of the year and possibly of the past few years. Ex Machina is extremely well-acted and tense. What We Do in the Shadows is HILARIOUS and just so fun and quotable. And DOFP is a great X-Men flick.
$60 well-spent, imho.

Image Just bought some new stuff. Highlander is a film I should have owned a long time ago. Tropic Thunder is a movie I have never seen yet I can quote a lot of it... it was only $7 from target so why not? And Humphrey Bogart is the man so it needs no explanation.
