So the official trailer is up. It looks like the sequel to Carpenter's The Thing that we should have gotten instead of the CGI prequel we got...

Got a new update from the kickstarter. Post production is done, the cut is complete, but as mentioned previously because of the distribution deal we won't be getting our copies until after the limited release. I'll update whenever they said out more updates (like locations and dates)

At lunch i messaged the Kickstarter asking when the digital download would be available, and within minutes Alec Gillis had sent me an email saying they were targeting 9/1 for the digital release as well. Pretty cool. Can't wait to check it out.

I saw this. It's pretty forgettable.
The effects are good, but the direction is so shoddy you never get a very good look at them with the artificial shaky cam.

The score is bland stock score stuff, and the acting is bleh. It's too content to just take plot points and elements from other, better movies and simply regurgitate them. There's also a Sarah Palin joke and a riff on "You're gonna need a bigger boat". Nothing terribly original for most of its running time. It's worth a watch for us fans of 80s and 90s monster movies with practical effects and rubber suits, but even at only 80 minutes, I don't know if I'll watch it again.

2.5/5.

I was going to consider getting it myself but I read a lot of negative reviews stating the same complaints that Jelly stated. So looks like I'll pass on it as well.
