Commando - A downright terrible 80's action movie starring Aronold Schwarzenegger. It's not even a stupid fun kinda film...it's awful.

Kickboxer - Now this is the kind of 80's cheesey action movie I like. It's a bad movie, but it is fun (though It's not quite as good as Van Damme's previous movie, Bloodsport).

Terminator 2 - Holy ****, this movie is really really good. I've only watched it once back in 2008 but I never realized just how good it was. I love the whole bait and switch that was done with the T101 and T1000 for the first half hour of the movie as it really keeps the tension going. Despite it being an action movie, there is also a lot of depth to the characters to be found and even though I have a problem believing John is only 10, he is a really likable kid. The T1000 is fantastic and the CGI on him still looks quite good even in today's world. It is also nice that they did not go overboard on the CGI and kept to using practical effects except when necessary. I wish studios today would stop being lazy and go back to doing it this way. Anyway, I give T2 a 9/10 stars.

Well, now to figure out what to do about 3 and 4 since they aren't on Netflix (which so damn stupid, GET SOME DAMN MOVIES I WANT TO WATCH!!) and my library doesn't carry them.

Mortal Kombat - Not as awful as I remember, but certainly not good. I actually enjoyed it - 6/10.

Redemption - Jason Stratham is pretty good in this film. The characters are well done - 7/10.

Watched Speed Racer with my visiting nephews, and am happy to say they got really into it. As the movie went on (past the halfway mark) we started stopping the film to discuss things like why Speed needs two different cars and exactly how corrupt the WRL is. Thing is, I wasn't the only one doing the explaining as they were so invested in it they were coming up with their own theories about things.

Also, I don't think you really get Spritle and Chim Chim until you watch this movie with kids.

Reptilicus

Guys, I've learned so much about Copenhagen from this movie.

Tentacles

Ugh. This Jaws ripoff came on the double feature Blu-Ray along with Reptilicus and it's a bunch of ugh.

I hope they paid Henry Fonda well for the afternoon of work he put in, and I hope they paid John Huston considerably more for actually giving a decent performance.

Jaws - Thankfully the equipment was working because my god, it was amazing to see this movie on the big screen. The only oddity was the ***** was edited out at the end of the movie when Martin says, "You son of a *****!" I give it a 9/10 stars.

The Creature Walks Among Us

I'd never seen this one! I was pleasantly surprised; neat spin on the Gill Man, attempt at some thematic stuff with the whole man vs. animal/nature of evil/original sin plot, a much stronger cast than Revenge, and some surprisingly mature stuff for a '50s monster movie with the woman who has an emotionally abusive husband on one end and the unwanted advances of a creepy guy on the other. Lots of damsels in distress in these movies, but very few examinations of how crappy it was to be a woman in those days (hell, in these days, too).

Liked the ambiguous ending. It could go either way for the Creature, huh?

Terminator 2 - I love this movie. It's partly a nostalgia trip and mainly just awesome. 9/10.

Ted 2- I was going into this expecting crap but it was actually pretty funny. There was a Jurassic Park reference and even Godzilla had a couple of cameos.

The Lady from Shanghai - It started out really slow and there were areas that dragged on, but the last bit of the movie was worth it. The stuff in the fun house had a great payoff and was really unique. I loved Michael's comparison to them being sharks towards the beginning because it seems quite true. I can't say it is going to be one of my top favorites, but I'm sure it is one that I will start to notice more with with each viewing. I give it 7/10 stars.
