Eh, I don't mind it. I mean, they're gonna happen or they're not. My want of them isn't going to affect anything.

Dark Horse and Universal have a first look deal.
Maybe they will adapt Ricardo Delgado's Age of Reptiles.

^ Can't disagree with that. Age of Reptiles is the best.

Also: Uni and Dark Horse have a first look deal? Let's get that Usagi movie going!

Garbage. No amount of meta-awareness can stop this from being the worst Jurassic Park film yet.

Pretty much no practical effects, save a Brontosaurus scene. It's a very flat, un-cinematic film too. Nothing feels big or exciting. I can't remember one money shot, except for maybe the hilariously stupid dino-battle at the end.

This makes me retroactively more thankful for Edwards' Godzilla, honestly.

Saw this last night. I really enjoyed it, especially the end dino-fight (I would have disapointed if had ended any other way, honestly...). It had some issues (JURASSIC PARK nostalgia, anyone!?), but it delivered pretty much what I expected it to deliver (again, the end dino-fight was the big payoff for me).

Now can we get that crazy-sh*t John Sayles JP4 next?

Did any of you buy the JP copies that came with the $7.50/$5.00 Fandango JW movie ticket offer? If so can someone give me the URL I can't find it and Fandango's website isn't helpful at all.

Saw it last night. Thought the acting was terrible, kids were annoying, plot was paper-thin with some mighty big holes..... But there was a ton of dino-action and that's why I went to see it. Pretty much what I expected, and it didn't disappoint.

The first Jurassic Park is a classic movie. It features a great story, cast of characters, and revolutionary special effects.

Jurassic World is nowhere close to that, but it is a blast. Sure, the characters are cliched (and terrible in general). The dialogue is mostly awful. Chris Pratt sort of saves the day in the character department by being, well, himself...but I wouldn't go in expecting much more than lots of Dino action and a few laughs.

But my childhood felt rekindled...the music, the homages, and of course THAT ENDING. It's stupdily glorious in a way that left our movie audience applauding at the end.

I loved it. It's by no means a good movie, but the last half of the film was so much fun that I could overlook the bad stuff.

And honestly, this was the kind of fun movie I wanted from Godzilla, something that left me cheering inside. Jurassic World did just that.

Just got back from this about an hour ago. I liked it I liked it a lot; however I don't like the direction they're probably going to go with the JW franchise

I'd actually favor JW over Godzilla. The new Goji design doesn't quite work for me and JW was simply more fun. Godzilla had 3 awe-inspiring moments all involving him killing the Mutos or using his beam. Jurassic World is non-stop fun from about halfway through the movie and the ending was sheer joy.

Plus

I'd agree with the above posts - I'm not sure I like the direction they are going in after this film, but I had an absolute blast during this movie. I'd probably favor this over Avengers 2, though both were great examples of how fun movies can be. I really hope Godzilla 2 takes a lesson from Jurassic World and gives us the same kind of carnage and mayhem...literally it was non-stop for the last 30 minutes.

^ There are some really cool sequences in Godzilla, but the characters were bland at best and we didn't see enough of G. I hate the slow burn approach, not because it was a bad idea, but because Edwards did it too often.

I think I would have enjoyed the movie more if Godzilla had more focus or if I loved his design. In fact, his design has been waning on me pretty consistently. I also didn't like the fact that Godzilla wasn't able to destroy everything in sight as he does in the Toho films. Edwards hides most of the destruction. Maybe this was a budget constraint, but it irked me.

But yes, JW is awesome. It's just non-stop fun, more so than Godzilla was.
