Wow -- that's an amazing cover for Buckaroo Banzai! I don't think I've ever seen new cover art that worked so well, the art is new but at the same time it looks like it could have been hanging on the theater walls when the movie was first released.

With this upcoming release announcement from Kino I think we may be seeing a world where Vincent Price is the actor most represented on Blu-Ray.

Fans of '80s fantasy and horror: Warner Archive is releasing Ladyhawke and Wolfen on Blu-Ray.

Disney has released Return to Oz and Swiss Family Robinson on Blu-Ray exclusively on their online 'Disney Movie Club.' I want these, but I'll elect to wait for 'em to make their way to third party sellers, 'cause I've no interest in joining their cult-like 'Movie Club.'

^It'd be different if they just sold it through their online store, but having to be a member and such just seems like a hassle I can't be bothered with.

... but, like I said: all these releases turn up on eBay or amazon's third party dealers, so it's not like they'll be difficult to get.

I dunno, but looking into the movie club requirements it's still probably a better deal than signing up to buy X number of movies a year at 29.99 each for bluray or 19.99 for DVD... What a ripoff!

One of my wishes came true, Spielberg's 1941 gets an individual release this week on Blu-Ray, away from the Spielberg box set, and I shall have it in my hands today

I just want a blu ray of Tales from the Crypt Demon Knight. Is that so much to ask for? That is the one movie that will quench my thirst for Billy Zane.

Never seen Demon Knight. Any good? I must say I rather enjoyed Zane's turn as the creepy whack job in Dead Calm. Another good, underrated flick that deserves resurrection on B-R.

I mean, kind of weird lineup for the Hammer set (two Dracula sequels and one Frankenstein sequel but neither of the original installments), but with the 'Volume One' subtitle I suppose we may be getting more soonish (or at least the following October).

WB has been knocking it out of the park this year with catalog releases, and here's hoping other essentials like Gwangi, The Thing From Another World, War of the Worlds and the rest of those Hammer Horror classics are in the pipeline!

War of the Worlds is on Netflix streaming in HD. I haven't watched it yet, but when I saw that I immediately went searching online only to be disappointed that I couldn't find it on blu ray anywhere. But that being said, surely it's in the pipeline if they've already got an HD master.
