^Hopefully they'll do another run of 3K on that title now that the three year license is up. They can simply buy the license again, as they did with Fright Night. It's a good possibility for those that sold out quickly, while those that took years to sell out are unlikely to be rereleased once they are.

Anyway, I caved and got a few titles. $100 for 5 movies from Twilight Time is a pretty good deal, and the what's the worst thing that could happen? That I sell one of 'em for double the price when they go OOP?

^The Mel Brooks collection is one of those that's been on my 'to get' list for forever.

Bought this today, used. I know the more recent rerelease has a better transfer, but only this old one has the A Warriors Journey documentary I watched a bunch of times on AMC back in the early '00s.

Brilliant film, and Stephen Prince's commentary is insightful as always.

I'm a total Blu-Ray evangelical, and for the most part I wait for titles I don't already have to make their way to Blu-Ray, but I haven't seen BC and Gwangi for forever, so I bit the bullet on them. Had them both on VHS recordings as a kid, of course! MST3K was filmed on video, so of course DVD is all we're gonna get.

I picked this up yesterday and man, I forgot how good this show was. I've watched the first disc and it is a shame it was canned so early, but I've never seen the second season before, so maybe it had dropped in quality.

Picked up Patlabor The Movie and Patlabor 2 The Movie today. I haven't seen them before and they were $4 each at Nebraska Furniture Mart, hard to pass up a deal like that especially when I liked the show.

I just saw on Amazon that Section 23 is releasing the first movie on blu-ray in May (presumably the second movie will come along sooner or later) but at $4 for the DVD I don't mind rebuying the movie later on if I really want it.

That Terminator cover art is atrocious. Sweet damn it's like companies go out of their way to create awful new art for old awesome movies.

So is that version any different than the previous 5 or 6 Blu-Ray releases?

Can anyone recommend a Blu-Ray player?

My 4 year old LG conked out on me. I got a Sony, and it was fantastic other than the fact that when watching a movie the sound would drop out for a few seconds every 20 minutes or so. I adjusted the audio options every which way, but it still happened. I took it back and got a Samsung, and man is it noisy! Makes an annoying whine, far beyond the usual low-level buzz when the machine reads the disc.

My ps3 is at least 6 years old and going strong (man I hope I don't jinx myself...). It's still the best bluray player and media streaming device that I've used*. Probably more expensive than just a stand-alone bluray player these days, but it wasn't back when I got it.

*keep in mind that pretty much all of my experience with other players is at friend and family's houses and most of them are not nearly the movie/home theater snob I am and I'm sure the vast majority of them just picked the cheapest one on the shelf that day that had the features they wanted. But that being said, I have yet to meet a stand-alone player that I thought worked as well or was as user friendly as my ps3. Even my family members who've watched movies at my house have commented how much better it is than their players (the streaming interfaces for things like netflix and hulu in particular are much better apparently).
