R.I.P. James Best

Just read on Yahoo! that beloved country bumpkin character actor James Best passed away at 88 years old. Enjoyed his shenanigans as Roscoe P. Coltrane on "Dukes of Hazzard" as a young tyke. Will always love his sturdy performance as Capt. Thorne Sherman in the 1959 cult classic, "The Killer Shrews."

In addition to his role as bad guy in the B/W westerns, his most memorable work for me was in the cult classic Alfred Hitchcock Hour episode "The Jar", a short story by Ray Bradbury. Quite an interesting (and scary) story!

He was also one of the radar men early on in "The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms".

He had such a rich and extensive career, he was well regarded both as an actor and person in Hollywood. He was also in episodes of Twilight Zone and the Green Hornet. He will be missed. :(
