It hasn’t been greenlit yet. But it is in serious development….

What are the execs at Warner Bros./DC thinking? It's like they're trying as much as possible to do the opposite of what Marvel has been doing.

I'm definitely up for a Legion of Super-Heroes movie, however if WB/DC is really serious about it they should hire Jim Shooter in at least an advisory position if not outright hire him to write the movie.

... and now: Leto's Joker

http://screencrush.com/suicide-squad-joker-first-look/

Man, the aesthetics of these DC films just does nothing for me. To my eyes everything, from Superman to the batmobile just look unpleasant, and now that they've got a villain they go even further over the top. I've just about given up hope that this film series will bring the material I love about the DC universe to the screen.

It's okay, we've had Hamill, Ledger, Nicholson, Romero.
I've had a ton of decent Jokers. Plus, it's just the general aesthetic that looks awful. Joker could still be great.

Where is the Joker picture? I just see Marilyn Manson cosplaying as Joker.

Not hugely impressed with the image, but I'm willing to give it a whirl. Not a fan of the head tattoo but all the others I'm fine with, The Phantom of the Paradise teeth are an interesting choice. But it really is about how he plays the character, which I fully expect him to be in a purple suit of some sort.

Yeah. Lots of crying about tattoos we won't even see 95% of the time, and teeth, which you may recall (but probably not because they aren't as important as the performance) were pretty gnarly in Ledger's version too.
The only thing that bugs me is the "damaged" tattoo.

Joker is kind of a bad fit for SS anyway, so I can easily see this as a non-canon Joker. He looks like he was dropped into a vat of chemicals, then rolled in a Hot Topic. Kind of curious who will get killed in this movie.

I saw that Man of Steel in color as well. But they also manipulated the original images to appear bleaker as well.

Not that it doesn't mean MoS wasn't heavily re/de-colored in post, just that the original shots are not as bad as video lab claims them to be. Honestly they didn't need to doctor the original shots, the fact they did is underhanded and manipulated.

Maybe this character design is secretly clever: in this version The Joker is actually a total poser, a guy who's conned his way into having this rep as a legendary psychopath when he's just a canny criminal.

Then he gets beat up by a proper Batman villain, like King Tut.

Ugh... They shouldn't even bother with Joker right now anyway. Give us a Batman villain we haven't seen onscreen yet...

Can they finally just give me Clayface and not deviate a single inch from The Animated Series version which still gives me nightmares? Kthxbye.

I know someone who hated Man of Steel because he killed Zod and because of that she believes that this is all a set up for the Justice Lords. But when your trying to show the Avengers who was the first big super hero team up, you don't make them the alternate reality villain version of it. That'd just turn the general audience off the whole thing. "Oh these heroes you've been watching? Yeah they're actually the bad guys!" To put the Justice Lords into the movies at some point would be pretty cool, but you don't start with them as the main cast. It'd be like JJ's Trek turning out to be Mirror-mirror Trek in the end.

Apparently the Joker will not have these tattoos in the movie and that photo was just a tribute to the Joker? Uuhhh ok WB....
