Ninja Resurrection- Whiskey tango foxtrot bizarre anime about Christians in Japan who resurrect Satan. Or something. Eventually it winds up resurrecting demonic samurai. I think. It was impossible to tell since not only did I not care, but the film had no discernible interest in elucidating anything which was going on. I have no bleeding clue. Offensive for its sex and violence and highly infamous and controversial back in its heyday, and this content is indeed repulsive, but the movie is mostly now of disinterest for the fact that it makes absolutely no freaking sense whatsoever. At all. None. Intestines can apparently be used as weapons though. 80 minutes of my life which are gone forever. Bad animation, incomprehensible plotting, and terrible voice acting. No redeeming value whatsoever. God, this was terrible.

Ughhh I remember when that came out and it was billed as the sequel to "Ninja Scroll"... I am pretty sure I sat through the whole thing, but I don't remember it having an ending

I actually liked Ninja Resurrection... when it was under the assumption that it was going to be completed. After a few years though I watched it again just for the hell of it and wished I never wasted my money on buying it.

Frank - great flick. I thought they really did interesting stuff telling a story about the difficulties of coping with mental illness. Highly recommended

Knights of Badassdom we got about 45 minutes into this movie before the Mrs asked to turn it off. Low budget... Except for the cast...I got to wonder if the producer or writer had a lot of friends. I may go back and finish it at some point, but there are enough movies out there I want to watch so who knows.

You Only Live Twice - Another great Bond movie that also features two actresses from a few Godzilla movies. I love Donald Pleasance as Blofeld even though he really didn't do much here. On the other hand, I never thought about this movie being racist in the slightest until two of my friends said as such. Either I just don't care enough or they are way too sensitive, but whatever. I give it a 7/10 stars.

Ebirah Horror of the Deep - Finally watched this BD and wow, the video quality was amazing. Too bad they can not fix the hissing sound in the audio whenever the Fairy twins sing though. Anyway, I'll give more in my review, which I hope to have up by the middle of the week.

I'll echo jelly's sentiments on Into the Woods. I haven't seen the stage version, but the film was AWFUL. And I do like (good) musicals. As he said, this wasn't really a musical in the traditional sense so much as people just sing-talking to an obnoxious, completely un-catchy tune (if you even call it that). I really can't think of a single positive thing to say about this movie. It was entirely un enjoyable. Actually, I take that back. There was one little scene in the entire movie that was decent and that was the scene where the two Prince Charming guys were singing about how manly they were or whatever and trying to one up each other. I think that's what was going on anyway, I hated the movie so much I've kinda blocked out all memory of it, but I vaguely remember a scene where they were strutting around in a stream and it was actually pretty funny. But that's it. Like 2 or 3 minutes of the entire film were all that I can think of to have anything positive to say about.... It is a TERRIBLE movie.

I'll wait for "Into the Woods" to come to HBO to see it, but I've heard several songs were left out from the stage version. And as a Sondheim fan, that's a damn shame. I don't know what they might have done in the movie to make the songs so bad.

20 Million Miles to Earth - I hadn't watched it in over a decade, but I picked it up on a BD double feature a little while ago. It holds up well. But it's kind of depressing, isn't it? King Kong is fierce and powerful, even outside of his element, but the Ymir is more confused and pitiable. I feel a little sadder when the latter dies. Also, those military dudes blowing holes in the Coliseum should be fired posthaste.

It Came from Beneath the Sea - Eh, not one of my favourites. It's not Harryhausen's fault, because the attack and destruction sequences are interesting enough, but the movie never quite finds it pacing. Sequences drag on when not much is happening in them. I think the love triangle is weird and interesting, and it's a 1950s movie speaking positively of women's independence, but the parts don't really make for an awesome whole.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World - Now this was an enjoyable little romp. Cleverly edited, with decent characters and fun action scenes. The pacing does suffer nearer to the end, and I found the ending disagreeable, but I'd watch it a couple more times.

Vertigo - We got to see this on the big screen today at the Drafthouse and it was amazing!! This is my second time seeing the movie and I enjoyed it even moreso now than before, which was great. I still think Psycho is my favorite Hitchcock movie I have seen thus far, but this is quite close to taking that spot. I give it a 9/10.

Black Death - 2010 film from Christopher Smith that's one part period piece, one part fantastical fight vs witchcraft. It's a solid dark piece of violence and medieval imagery on its own, but the ending of the movie is what brings it home. This is the second time I've seen it and I liked it a bit more this time, actually, going in with more accurate expectations in terms of its tone, which is VERY bleak.

ABCs of Death 2- Not as good as the first one though some of the stories where pretty interesting and the opening/ending song was most disturbing.

How to Train your Dragon 2- Pretty good sequel I don't know if the show(s) that have come out fall into line before the movie and I can't remember the first movie all that well but I'll probably track down both to rewatch and watch for the first time.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 -
This movie's not bad, but ultimately I feel like these two movies are going to wind up being a bit of a missed opportunity to just edit more tightly and give us one GREAT movie.

There are times where this thing is COOKING and things feel tense, as if they're about to boil over, and the emotion and atmosphere is FIERCE...and then it just treads water until it ends.

Some great sequences, and nothing really bad, but I think we're going to wind up seeing that between two 2-hour movies, a solid hour worth of running time could have been cut to leave us with one SPECTACULAR 3-hr film. People will probably respond a little better to this movie when they can get both on home video and watch them back to back.
