Cool review. I do hope I get Gamera before MKG though.

BTW, I hate to ask this for fearing the answer, but is the Special Color edition of 2000 supposed to represent the Kiryu version? If so, does this mean we aren't going to get an actual Kiryu one?

I have the feeling things will pick up once more news of Toho's new Godzilla becomes more out.

Though at this point I'll take MUTOs from NECA.

If NECA even bothers to do that :|.

NECA only has the license for just Godzilla variants I thought?

This year will probably be a slow year for MA figures but next year should be booming with the new movie coming out.

I don't get why this year needs to be slow for MA. They have so much more to give us. All we have are friggin repaints coming out right now. Give us some god damned new monsters, eve if they are only versions of Godzilla.

Anyway, I picked up another effect set to add more buildings to my display, but Bandai really needs to give us some damn sky scrappers. These small ass buildings aren't going to cut it on their own.

There is a grey one? I picked a set up at TRU yesterday because I had a rewards coupon I needed to use but all they had was green. While it is nice to have some color with my MA buildings, it just looks off being green.

BTW, I've come to the conclusion that my top 5 most wanted MA now are:

1. Kiryu Goji (specifically the 2002 version without the scar)
2. SOS Mothra
3. Anguirus
4. Showa MechaG
5. King Ceasar

I would still love to have a 54, 89, and GMK Godzilla, but those are the ones I want most of all right now.

There's an interview somewhere about the toys and a rep said they started out with just grey buildings but then switched to green for more color. So grey buildings are the rarer versions, doubt they'll have a bigger resell ticket.

Unless I have my info swapped.

EDIT:

And is the harbor strike still going on? I've read people say it is and that it isn't. I just ordered Ganera from Anime Island and wonder if I should be expecting it later this month or just later.

No, you've got that down correctly. All of the buildings were originally done in grey but the later releases had the wider variety of colors (green for the city, red and blue for the smaller packs) instead. I have everything but a set of the green buildings, I ought to pick those up sometime.

The strike appears to be over but that doesn't instantly clear up the massive backlog. I'm curious to see how long it will take Bluefin's supplies of Gamera and Mecha-King Ghidorah to start showing up everywhere.

Yeah, this strike bull**** is getting annoying. I now have Gamera, MKG, Shadow Moon, 16, and Neptune all ****ing delayed thanks to it. By the time they actually come out, I'm going to need that money for something else.

Has anyone heard of a line called Toho Machine Chronicles? It is like a vehicle series or something for them. I saw they have released the White Herons and I would like to get some to go with my Kiryu MAs, but I do not know where to get them from. Doe anyone know? Does anyone also know how well they fit in with MA in general?

the machine chronicles are pretty cool. I have the first set (which I'm pretty sure was later reissued with a slightly different paint scheme). I never* bought the second set so I have no idea how the white heron scales with MA figures.

*Actually i do have the Super X 2, which I stumbled across in a collectible toy shop while strolling around Amsterdam of all places several years ago.

After a quick search, I came up with this...http://www.amazon.com/Collection-Chroni ... B00GRHWDZA
To be honest, I think these might be a little big for use with Monster Arts. I have series one and they all seem to be around N-scale, or 1/166th and go well with 12" figures. Plus, that price! Yikes!!! I would recommend, if you're still interested, contacting any Japanese dealers you may have had experience with on E-Bay and see if they can find a set at a more reasonable amount. Hope this helps...

I'm going to pass. I happened to see a review of the Super X2 from GFanFreaks on Youtube and thought they were something new. Thanks for the info on them guys.

Sigh, another day and still no Gamera.

Well, we are getting a MonsterArts figure in August, a... Godzilla reissue. Waiting for pics or listings to confirm, but seems like it's the very first release.

While that's a bit depressing and seemingly pointless on its own merits, it gives a little hope to the possibility that other older, rare retail figures could get another shot, like Fire Rodan or King Ghidorah, which would be a boon to latecomers. The only SHMA figure that's ever received a straight reissue up to this point has been that same Moge-Goji.
