I posted this in the book thread about that new Godzilla Heroic Years champion matsuri book, but I thought it might get more traffic here...

Just got this book today. It is awesome! I noticed on one of the pages about megalon there's a series of numbered pictures along with associated numbered captions. Picture number two clearly shows the second Gigan suit under construction beside the original suit from the year before. I'd love to know what the caption says! Can anybody read it?

Those trapeze photos are from the Haruo Nakajima Monster Photobook that came out recently. I got it and the Godzilla's Heroic Years Champion Matsuri book as well as the blurays for Mothra vs Godzilla and Ghidrah the Three Headed Monster from amazon Japan. I don't read Japanese but I'd still highly recommend these books. The Haruo Nakajima book is almost all pictures with only some text at the beginning and end. The Champion Matsuri book has a lot more text, that I'm sure would be totally fascinating. But the pictures alone make it worth buying.

And if you like behind the scenes stuff, the Ghidrah bluray has some amazing footage of things like the Toho model shop building sets to be destroyed, constructing the monster suits (the articulated armature inside Rodan's wings is crazy looking) etc. it also has some really cool footage of the actual film suit at some sort of theme park giving an exhibition for kids.

The Mothra bluray has some cool stuff too, but the Ghidrah disc has the better special features between the two.

Not sure how far off-topic this is, but I'm curious because I have a taste in need of catering. Has anyone ever drawn Godzilla (or any other famed kaiju) as an Ultra? Like, Godzilla in an Ultraman suit, or something along those lines? It's after 4:30 AM for me right now, so I don't really care how silly the idea sounds, but I would be grateful to anyone who knows of such things. Google Images has failed me.

In regards to this influx of official awesome kaiju art; they are the art for Japanese trading card game, Battle Spirits. In March they are doing a booster pack devoted exclusively to the Toho Kaiju Menagerie.
