The Fantastic Four doesn't need to be grim and gritty. It need to be a film about a family of friends. :(

That looks like a decent Superhero film. Nothing like a Fantastic Four film but as a Superhero film it may be pretty good. Loving the Things design.

I actually like how it looks and feels more like a science fiction film than it does a superhero film. Whether it works or not, we'll see, but the superhero genre is in need of a change. So I don't mind the overall feel or direction.

It doesn't look like any Fantastic Four i've known.. i've heard a number of comparisons to the "Interstellar" trailer. Which upon second viewing almost seems such a spot on observation i can't believe i didnt pick up on it.

While it doesn't (seemingly) have that outlandish cosmic Kirby-ness I dearly wish for this does look very interesting. This is essentially Trank's Godzilla 2014 and I hope it works.

I think it looks more like Tranks Man of Steel/Interstellar fusion.

I was comparing Trank to Gareth Edwards - both started out with smaller genre/ FX movies (Chronicle, Monsters), moved onto bigger movies based on known properties (FF, Godzilla), and now are working on even bigger movies based on probably the best known property in the world (Star Wars).

Is it just me or does it look... really generic? Like some forgotten, grimy, sci-fi would-be blockbuster from the late '90s?

I'm by no means a big comic book follower, but isn't FF one of the more lighter and fun superhero groups? Mr F and Sue being all sciency and in love, Ben and Johnny busting each other's chops. This doesn't seem like a group of fun people. Then again it's the grim and gritty reboot so fun is the last thing they want to be shown.

Regardless the trailer didn't really grab me, especially not for a FF movie. For a generic sci-fi Interstellar rip-off, I'd be intrigued but I was also intrigued by the trailer to that John Depp become an AI movie.

And am I just getting old or do the 4 look like kids? Like they could be superimposed into the Alba FF movies as their teen kids.

I'm not expecting much from a movie that makes Dr Doom a freaking blogger.

^Agreed. It doesn't look like an FF movie. But it does look like a good hero film.
