I think Tamashii is going to wait and see how well Gamera does before they annouce more Gamera monsters. I'm sure they don't want another Alien/Predator situation.

I'll still never wrap my head around the lack of Showa stuff. I've always heard the argument was that the Heisei series is what a lot of Japanese grew up with (at least, the ones who are collecting these right now), but I know most Showa figures would have massive amounts of support in the States. Also, if Showa figures are such a big risk, why are there so many Showa variants in other lines (i.e. Marmit has a billion Hedorahs)? Meh. I'm like the Heisei series, but Showa Godzilla and his cohorts need some figures.

Predictions - We are either getting no announcement this month or a repaint. I'd guess JJ, Hedorah, or Showa MG are on the list for new monsters getting released based on the fact they are in the new Godzilla game, and I strongly lean MG getting released first out of that bunch since Naruto also "predicted" him.

Maybe it has something to do with Revoltech having done the Showa line. Maybe there was some sort of contract with those versions between Toho and Revoltech that makes it Bandai unable to touch them for the MA line right now.

I love my Revoltech Anguirus. He's one of my favorite figures.

If there were a contract issue, maybe it would prevent Tamashii from producing monsters that Revoltech has already made (Mothra, Rodan, etc.). They did make Godzilla 64, so I know it can't be that Tamashii is simply unable to produce any Showa kaiju. I'd also think that if the contact were an issue, someone would have a little info about it. Either way, it kinda sucks.

I thought it was just Kawakita's involvement and the 90s movies being vaguely well regarded or something?
I expect to see more variety in the next few years since we're pretty much finished with the Heisei series.
Bring on Millennium/Showa stuff. (Though I suspect we're more likely to get Millennium than Showa)

It maybe a contract issue but not in the sense that another company is making the figures. IIRC the Japanese handle copywrites differently than in America so the person who created the monster maintains the writes to said monster. If that's the case then that would explain why we haven't seen a lot of Showa monsters yet. They could in theory do more Showa Godzilla suits but then we'd complain of an over saturation of Godzilla in the market. :P

He may have posted it on TK initially, but don't quote me on that. Or perhaps another member did.

I don't own a facebook page but I have read most of the TK drama regarding this over exaggerated issue. I guess I should throw in my two cents on this subject. As a person who works in a corporate law-firm and deals with these type of things, I believe it is only a conflict of interest if he is a hired employee from Tamashii/Bluefin but if I can recall he as mention that he is more or less a contract employee. This means that he is only restricted to the agreement that are listed on the contract and what ever he does outside of the contract is his own action. This means that if he were to sell any product that was from the company, he wouldn't cause any harm due to him being a contract employee. People who are hired as a "contract employee" are at most NEVER consider part of the company but are usually labeled "outsource" by their employers. (Remember, no one knows what his contract has)

I do understand that many people are feeling cheated by how he linked his ebay store as an alternative to selling figures but he isn't breaking any rules/laws. So in my personal opinion, he isn't doing anything wrong and I feel that people are just over exaggerating his aftermarket prices (or his marketing technique). Don't get me wrong, I understand how people feel about being leaded by someone only to fall into the trap of aftermarket pricing but one should always try to find other options before resorting to those that are recommended from any online personnel.

TLDR: People have their rights to be mad but he isn't breaking any rules because he has stated that he is a contract employee.

Wait a minute, he started selling them on ebay?

I don't see anything wrong with him letting people know when they were out of production or whatnot, but buying them up to sell them on ebay is some pretty *****ed up ****.
