That's stupid though. So not only do you have to pay $200 for the system, but you then have to pay another $20 for the adapter? Whomever made that decision needs to be smacked upside the head with a mallet.

Nintendo is figuring that a person probably already has a 3DS or DSi in the house so that's why they didn't include it. I'm kind of annoyed by it myself but I'm sure I can find a AC adaptor on the cheap.

Hmmm, I have games I haven't registered yet. I wonder if I should just go ahead and register them or wait and see what I can use for the next iteration of the loyalty program.

I'm not all that surprised really, most of the rewards over the last year have been game offerings and physical rewards weren't really being replenished as the current stock ran out.

So I got the New 3DS XL and here are my thoughts.

Pros:
-So much faster than previous 3DS iterations
-3D is improved I find myself leaving the 3D turned on in my games now
-The system is very sleek.

Cons:
-The removable backplate to access the external storage. Eff this I used the proper screw driver and the screw on the left side got stripped. Thankfully I've managed to finagle the case apart enough to remove the old microSD card and insert my higher capacity one.

Sadly I haven't been able to test out the other control stick which is more like one of those nubs that older laptops used to have nor have I tested out Amiibo support because I have not games that support them nor any interest in it.

Haven't had the chance to open it yet, but I am excited. Too bad they are making the transfer stuff bs.

EDIT: Nevermind. MY machine has a god damned scratch going down the top screen. WTF NINTENDO!!!??? Now I have to wait until Best Buy gets another one instock to exchange it. Thanks for dropping the ball Nintendo!!

I'd call Nintendo about it see if they can do an advanced exchange where they send you a new system right away.

Do you find your fingers slipping Kain on the back of the system because of the material they used?

I've messed around using the nub on the menu system and it's fairly functional on there can't wait to test it out on other games. I bought MH4U last night but going to wait till I get through Pokemon OmegaRuby to start that.

Once you get some time with it you'll notice the back is really slippy. N3DS is still an amazing system and it should have been what Nintendo released in the first place.

I personally find the upgrades to be worth it. The 3D is amazing now and you will actually want to leave it on because no longer do you have to worry about moving the system and bumping the 3D out of focus. I really don't see this becoming a DSi or Gameboy Micro.

Hopefully Nintendo releases more exlusive games for it than just Xenoblade Chronicles.

Vita isn't really competition to Nintendo hell Sony has given up on it, it seems they've basically turned it into PS4's second screen like the Wii U has the tablet controller and MS has SmartGlass for it's systems. Nintendo has gone on record saying their biggest competition is smart phones

Hmm must be just me then. I play while laying down and not sitting up so maybe thats why? I guess a lot of people are having issues with the c-stick nub thankfully mine works just fine well I haven't tested it in games yet but it works fine on the menu. My only issue is the stripped screw on the left side for removing the back plate to change out SD cards.

Man, I forgot how amazing OoT is. I just finished the incredible Water Temple. Just like last time, this is easily my favorite dungeon in the game. It is a shame the boss is chump change.

I know that temple gets a bad rap but I find the water temple in LOZ: TP to be a lot more frustrating.

So Nintendo held a Nintendo Direct yesterday and they annouced some major things

-The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess HD is coming out next year on the Wii U it will be bundled with a Wolf Link Amiibo
-The Zelda series is get it's first female iteration of Link called Linkle she will be DLC for Hyrule Warriors
-Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow are coming to the 3DS VC in Feb.
-Star Fox Zero has a release date of April

Yeah, Twilight Princess on the Wii U will be awesome because now I can touch screen menus instead of clunky ones.

No interest in anything else they announced.
