But there are plenty of other young heroes who are closer to Spider-Man than Black Panther. Maybe not as popular, but Black Panther isn't the closest thing the MCU has access to.

What about Spider Woman? I think that Marvel has full rights access to the character; if I remember correctly it is because Spider Woman wasn't created as a subset character under the Spider-Man banner but rather an independent character (with a primary goal of locking down the trademark).

And if we're focusing on younger heroes, there is one in particular that needs mentioning -- .

A Squirrel Girl movie with the tone like that of Guardians of the Galaxy could really take off.

I believe Sony does indeed have the license for Spider-Woman as they planned a female super hero movie before they went to hell.

Well, since Marvel's not getting the rightlys back I wonder who they'll cast in the Sinister Six. I heard something about Channing Tatum as Sandman. But I'm really interested in who should be casted as Doctor Octopus and Vulture.

Also, Ethan Hawke for Mysterio!

Didn't Sony say "F*** you magic tricks [Dr. Strange] we've got a 50-ft Tom Hardy as Sandman"???

The reality is I don't care what Sony does with Spider-Man if it's anything other than "Not have him anymore" because they suck at making Spider-Man movies.

That was back when they were trying to court Hardy at the same time Marvel was trying to court him for Dr Strange... instead of jumping on to this bomb of a movie, apparently he went to the bomb of a movie that will be "Suicide Squad"... not sure why he'd choose to do another super hero flick after his turn at Bane especially another DC property with potential connections to his previous work.

DC has a Spider-Man...Black Spider...not really relevant but we are discussing heroes similar to Spidey.

If we're talking about DC characters, you might as well go with the character who was called a spider man decades before Marvel's Spider-Man debuted; check out the Tarantula (first appeared in 1941).

Take it with a grain of salt, but I just read over on toplessrobot that the rumor is that they've come to some sort of "profit sharing" agreement, and that Spider-Man will make his MCU debut in Avengers: Infinity Wars Part 1. And that it won't be Andrew Garfield in the role.
