No derpy eyes? Interesting. As for Rebirth's joints, I suggest putting the ball joints in boiling water for 10 seconds, then dunking them in cold water for 10 seconds dry it and wait about 5-10 minutes or so. When you pop them back in they should be a smoother but more firm fit.

I too like G2014's tail articulation a whole bunch. I don't like the gap between his crotch and his tail though. That's where I think NECA has it beat. I think both have great molding though.

They're different but I like the changes. I wish NECA's figure was better segmented, but its more accurate to the CGI model. the MA I feel like is what the design would look like under top of the line suitmation (I mean look at who sculpted the thing!)

It depends on what he means by boiling water. If it is just putting him under hot water from the sink, that is fine as that will not effect the figure in any way.

God damn Barnes & Noble and their coupons:

I got Kiryu 2003 for $85 and the Doctor Who BD set for $60 (and I still needed to buy S7 and the two specials, but this was the better deal).

How much was he originally going for before all the coupons and junk?

Kain, I might have asked this before...but what do you use to edit your photos and add chat bubbles? Nice pics, btw.

I posted this in the other thread, but Revoltech Ang is awesome and scales very well with G64.

Shin, Kiryu was $124.95 but then I had a 25% off coupon and 10% off from my membership card. After tax he came out to $90 and some change.

Honestly, had I not gotten him for that price I wouldn't have bought him. I'm glad I did though as I absolutely love him. The broken eye head is pretty cool, the backpack seems to lock in a lot better, and I liked that they used rubber for the wires that go between his his arms and the gun attachment pieces as opposed to the plastic wire they did on the 2002 version, but it is the paint job most of all that I love about this guy. He looks like he is battle worn whereas the other version is clearly him fresh off of the assembly line. I wouldn't mind if they were to do the Showa versions like this. Have the 74 one be new and the 75 version be worn.

Hybrid, I just use Microsoft Paint.

The Entertainment Earth deal of the day today is 25% off Godzilla figures. Specifically Monsterarts toys. Some pretty good prices too....

Oh yeah, it is pretty cool swapping the new version of Kiryu's upper head with the different colored eyes of the 2002 one. Oh, and the red eyes top looks badass on the damaged snout.

I was fine with my first Kiryu, had no need or itch for the new one. But... damn I kind of wish I opted out and got that one instead. The darker paint job just looks so much nicer. And there's only a snowball's chance in hell I'll be able to upgrade without it cost a pretty penny.

Please stop posting such awesome pictures, you're making me super jealous!

Well...I planned on buying Biollante after Christmas, but it's gone crazy-prices. I guess that's one M.A. I'll never get. :/

Destoroyah definitely ought to be the next MonsterArts figure on the way out, which took long enough considering the figure's age.

At first I felt bad for the amount of effort I put into playing SHMA catch-up, but it seems I did it just in time before prices on everything I didn't have skyrocketed. It's my hope that things slow down just enough that scoring the Tokyo SOS Kiryu doesn't mean paying way over MSRP (I don't have the option of visiting a B&N), but I think after December its stock will stabilize juuuust enough. Older stuff though...

All that's missing now is the old effects set, Garuda, KG thanks to its current price, Legend-Goji because I might rather have the effects version, and the Des Evolution set which still feels overpriced. I had an overly negative experience with the Adult Junior and won't be rebuying that one.
