I can not wait to finally see how this ends. It still sucks it was made into 3 movies when there was no need for it, but oh well, they knew they had my money.

Run-time on part 3 is 156 minutes?

Whoever authorized an 11-hr movie to be made from a 200 page fantasy novel should get hemorrhoids.

I thought they were splitting this last movie into two movies?

So far this film looks epic. I just can't wait to see the massive war.

What will Smaug be doing in this movie. I haven't seen any of him in the trailers? Did he get killed in between movies or something?

The official run time for this is three hours and twenty six minutes.

That's infuriating.

i really feel like 10 years from now when you come across those lists of "10 Greatest movies never made" we will see "GDT's Hobbit" on the list. I can only imagine something very different from what we got from Peter Jackson, but i don't know that GDT would have captured the whimsy appropriately.

I think GDT's Hobbit would have been fun, but I don't know if it would have fit into the established MIddle-Earth aesthetic of the LOTR movies.
It probably wouldn't have used so many CG orcs, which would definitely be an improvement.

I liked the first Hobbit. Desolation of Smaug though put me to sleep. This one I'll keep an eye on but sitting through 3 hour movies can be a chore especially with scenes involving barrels and rivers.
