The one thing that I recall concerning the X-Plus Ghidorah statue was how difficult it was to both assemble and maintain. The wings were the worst because of the size and weight. the heads/neck sections not so much but still not an easy process. The vinyl figure may or may not be a little easier because of the weight factor. Regardless of the possible difficulties involved, it still appears to be a heck of a figure to own.

The give you an idea of what King Ghidorah manufacturers have to go through, the Gigabrain figure was made out of an incredibly thick, heavy vinyl in order for the wings to maintain their shape without drooping or warping the body of the figure under their weight. The Pilot Ace figure didn't take those precautions, so it's pretty easy to find it with drooping wings.

As i understand it, the wings will be the same as the 25cm Mothra and the necks will be engineered similar to the Biollante tentacles.

I'm confused: is there a 30cm Gorosaurus fig. in addition to the new 25 cm that is coming out? I was under the impression that the Gorosaurus from X-Plus (including the release coming soon) was a vinyl taken from the "Monster Maker 28" resin kit.

Not all that keen for the 30CM Gorosaurus figure, but I'd be all over the 25cm if they re-release it (so far, Diamond seems to be re-releasing only the 30CM/12 inch Xplus series....hopefully we'll see some of the 25CM/9 inch figures down the road).

If the 25's are ever redone, it won't be by Diamond. They've already said no go. I'm starting to get concerned about the Diamond King Goji that was supposed to be re-released this month. I'm still waiting for my delivery from Entertainment Earth. They've been prompt on their deliveries up until now.

The diamond Goji '62 is out. I saw it at a local comic shop a few days ago. I've not personally experienced it b/c I don't buy from them often, but I've heard entertainment earth can be a bit slower than some other retailers at receiving and distributing stock.

there was an interview with Diamond by Kaijucast Kyle pages back.. basically the justification was the 25cm was too close in scale to the larger Bandais.. not sure if that is a Toho intercession to keep Bandai happy or 'market research'.. either way most of these are completely different class.

Well, I just noticed I f'ed up my preorder on the '55 Godzilla. Apparently I never "submitted" the order. Now flossies is capped out. You guys know anyone else I might be able to get it from?

Edit: Amazon has a preorder for January 2015. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00M9VI1J ... -4&pi=SL75 Is this for second shipments? I know its getting ready to ship at the end of this month too.

TK has pictures of 3 other figure prototypes at the X-Plus booth (G'2k4, FW Gigan, G'54) but they look small... like new smaller scale line.

I heard somewhere that the only reason X-Plus is able to do new figures is because they are made to order. Something to do with a different type of license..like garage kits.. But yeah Bandai has most of the license on lock down.

Am I crazy, or is anyone else a little "meh" towards the King Ghidorah figure? The manes look terrible. The pose is...not favorite. Maybe once more pics show up online I will change my mind.

I'm bothered by the wings, which are completely wrong in shape compared to the 1968 version. I know this is something they had to do to correct any potential issues with the wings and I'm sure I'll love the figure anyway, but still...
