I just found that this was drawn by Keiji Nakasawa, of "Barefoot Gen" fame (I knew I saw that art style somewhere)

What a great find. I'm browsing through this blog right now, and it's a treasure trove. I think the comics for Son of, Sea Monster, and vs. Gigan are the best. I'd love for a English language book that would showcase some of this stuff.

I don't own a tumblr, so here's a bunch of pictures from me!







Some images connected to the long out-of-print novel entitled "Gamera vs. Phoenix", which was released to coincide with "Gamera, Guardian of the Universe". And from my own research, it seems that "Gamera vs. Phoenix" was also an un-produced predecessor to the aforementioned 1995 movie, along with another obscure book, "Gamera: Monster Aerial Battle" (itself another Gamera against the Gyaos adventure).

An inaccurate, but still cool looking Italian poster for what I'm assuming to be "Godzilla vs Mothra", featuring a new monster extrapolated from the plant-like tentacles of American International Picture's original advert. I'm tempted to call this beast 'Watang', but I don't speak Italian, so probably best not too.



I have no clue what the context behind this cover, or even if it accurately represents the story with this issue of "Boris Karloff's Tales of Mystery"...But on visuals alone, this is one of the greatest Kaiju paintings ever!
