^Love the original, never seen the remake (have seen scenes from it, and it looks gorgeous) - why not get 'em both at the same time?

Plus, I do most of my horror viewing in October.

Absolutely fair reason, simply didn't know if there was a difference besides one being that restored version of Nosferatu. I've never seen it outside of clips, but this year feels like a good time to change that. :)

I was sorely missing some Carpenter in my Bluray collection. And I need some more Vincent Price.

Ugh. I didn't mean to get a bunch of Blu-Rays today... but I saw some great sales!

All of them for under $40! Robocop was a Steelbook!

If you needed Alien, you should have gone for the brand new 35th anniversary edition. Yes, the disc itself is the same, but you get a better cover, HR Giger post cards, and a comic book version of the movie.

^I saw that, and I've looked through the comic version before at a bookstore, and the thought of Walt Simonson's art shrunk down that way didn't sit well with me.

Plus, the version I got was a whole two dollars cheaper! I could get two candy bars or three sodas with that kinda money!

And this was marked down like 43% and was $26

and pre-ordered this:

That's a really good price for that Tim Burton set...If I didn't already have Batman and Batman Returns I think I'd do it...but since I also don't really care about Corpse Bride or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I can't make myself pull the trigger for just three movies.

I don't know that this is news to anyone, since I rarely go to Walmart these days, but I found many copies of King Kong vs. Godzilla in my store's $5 bin and decided to finally pick it up. Then I checked Amazon. Since the BD is dirt-cheap there, I might use this copy for gifting or something else rather than keep it.

I was in Walmart recently and saw a DVD 3 pack with PJ's King Kong, King Kong vs Godzilla, and King Kong Escapes. Didn't see any bluray 3 pack but this particular walmart had very few blurays at all so that doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't exist.

The box is a lot of fun: it's a sturdy, well-made thing full of toys and booklets and all sorts of little surprises.

Picked up the Destroys all Monsters Bluray the other day to watch it with a few friends. I have to say, as fun as this movie is, I can't say I really like it when compared to the other Showa films. Sad truth on my part..
