Sorry to perform thread necromancy here, but with the recent release of G2K, GMK, GXMG, and the ROM trilogy on blu-ray, I just thought I'd see if anyone has run across any good custom covers? I'm trying to get a hold of the person who made my custom covers for the previous Sony batch, but I'm having issues there.

I've been working slowly, very slowly, on a project to pay better respect to the recent bluray releases. I need to note, however, this is a work in progress and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. I'm not a graphic artist. I never have been nor will I be. I've never attempted to create covers. The time I spend on these in a single sitting isn't great, but I've come back to it multiple times throughout the year. I've finally landed on a template I like. Here's the result so far:



I'm attempting to ape the Classic Media and Kraken Releasing format to an extent. Although I hold no love for the fonts that Sony used with their releases, I like my discs and covers to match, thus I'll be using them for the remaining movies. I haven't started the specific film's details on the back yet, because I'm still wrestling with a few issues. The aspect ratio, the word "Japanese" and the number for the running time don't match the rest of the fonts. They're just place holders at the moment. Does anyone have any font suggestions that might look better?

Well I made some adjustments and found ways around some problems I was having. Not bad for my first time-- If I do say so myself.

While I'm on this crusade, does anyone know if high quality textless/graphicless versions of the Millennium artwork exists? It'd be nice to keep the same theme going with a lack of titles on the actual artwork.

The layout looks great, but I'm not a big fan of the faux-metal embossing on some of those letters. It makes it hard to read and a bit distracting. The border around the cover posters isn't really doing it for me either. Great choice in images though, and once again the layout is nice and simple. Have you been using Adobe inDesign for these?

Two things are keeping these from being perfect Gman:

1- The aforementioned metallic block letters on the front and back. I'm sorry but they just look so out of place and amateur. Please change that, maybe even to something not shiny.

2- Missing Kaiju circle logos.

Please PLEASE make the updates because I'd really like to use your covers.

The metallic font is a placeholder at the moment. I'll change it up once I play with it more and land on something that I think works. As for the Toho logos, I'm afraid I'm going to opt out of those for the time being. It'll get pretty cramped with these back covers and once I get to Final Wars I won't even want to bother with it. Once they're all mostly done I'm going to go back and shape up some minor details I don't like.
