Meh, a Feb release date and the new trailers don't show any promise. I think I'm going to pass, but I'll probably get dragged to it by two of our friends that want to see it just becuase it has Mila Kuniz in it.

The guy playing the main antagonist looks INSUFFERABLE and not in a good "he's the villain" way. If every single line he utters is going to be all hush-breathed purse-lipped fake haughty then count me the fudge out, because sitting through more than the two minutes of trailer-worth of THAT kind of performance was stretching my life force to the breaking point.

So the movie was delayed due to the time and effort needed to add dragon people? I can get behind that.

The dragon people were in the previous trailers now that I know what to look for. No, they delayed it because THEY HATE FUN. A POX ON THEIR HOUSES, I SAY.

Also, I keep forgetting that Bae Doo-na is in this movie and then I remember and become EVEN MORE UNBEARABLY EXCITED TO SEE IT.

Well this was kind of terrible which is a shame because there's a lot going for it. There are some cool ideas and designs but the Wachowskis are trying to be a little too clever for their own good here. I normally like their approach to crazy ideas. Tonally their movies are very different, but they're a lot like Nolan in how they respect the audience enough to follow dense stories and pick up on things. But Jupiter Ascending is so incomprehensible and hokey. Even the action scenes are a chore and so hard to follow. There's also some really hammy, melodramatic acting from the bad guys, and not in a good way either.

I wouldn't say it's as bad as other recent space adventures like Green Lantern or John Carter, but imagine a less quirky, more cringe inducing and mostly conventional version of Guardians of the Galaxy and you have this. I hope Kingsman turns out better next week.

I don't honestly know if anything sums up this movie as well as that singular shot I think I saw. This whole movie IS a ham on rye in space. How did it get there? Why? Who? What? Shut up and look at the pretty things flying around.
