Just came in from Club Tokyo...

Image

Microman Godzilla and King Ghidorah set. Yeah, putting the tiny Microman in Godzilla was a "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!". I played around for 30 minutes and then grew too annoyed to continue. So I simply put the legs in Godzilla and attached the feet. Then for Godzilla's hands, I wrapped so scotch tape around the pegs and put them in place to the point they hold. And then attached the spines.

King Ghidorah doesn't even need his microman in to get his parts to stay on.

I will be getting the Megalon and JJ set sometime in the future. Surely going to be in my 2015 wish-list.

The kaiju are cool, The Micromen suck.

After getting into Marmits, I decided to buy a couple blank kaiju sofubies to try my hand at painting them in the funky colors sofubi is known for. I'm still perfecting the art.

The mastadon is by Super7 and the gothic goat is by Metacrypt. Both came as blanks. The mastadon I mixed silver glitter into the green paint and highlighted in metallic silver paint.

That goat is pretty badass.

Work gave me a belated B-day giftcard. Decided to go and blow it on some MOAR ULTRA 500 STUFFZ! I'm starting to get near the end, at least in the kaiju department.

Yeh...... Opening them was pretty funny... i opened 7 G'14s in a row then i got the muto followed by G'14 with breath... then the remaining 7 capsules were all G'14s as well!!

so i either need to make an army, or sell 13 of them on ebay

Now that i've gotten past the shock of the reveal, the G'14 is nice... the G'14 with breath accessory is a bit of a let down... it uses the same exact sculpt and just repaints the fins on the back (the tail has the same paint scheme as the standard so its not like the paint job is even complete).. They could have at least done paint on the tail or curled the tail or made the standard closed mouth, or had legs or arms make up a different stance... but as it is, you just get another G'14 with a (kinda lame) beam accessory.

So.. i do like the G'14 it just feels like the overall release is completely half-assed compared to every HG release that came before it.

All the previous HG releases had 6+ figures including classic characters or vehicles, this has 3 (and a partial repaint).

GINO or not, that's always been one of my favorite toys. The sheer size of the thing is great.

I would suspect they got them from HLJ, who's sold out now, as they sold the new HG set in groups of eight.

As for why, that one I think is due to Bandai incorporating chase toys more heavily into their gashapon products to encourage more purchases from the vending machines. Stores like HLJ obviously cut out the middleman of having to go in-person to a machine to try your luck, but this manipulation is at the case assortment level. This past year, all of the gashapon toys for series like Kamen Rider Gaim and ToQger have certain toys that are two or four per case of 48 sealed capsules, whether it's using metallic paints or having a working LED you don't find in the normal versions. The results you guys are getting from your HG Godzilla purchases are pointing to this set operating in the same manner, making it a pain in the ass to complete the set even though it's only four fricking figures.

The Godzilla with the breath is definitely a chase figure by the looks of things. The rest of the assortment might weight only slightly more heavily towards normal Godzilla than the MUTOs, with klen simply having especially bad luck, or the two MUTOs are intentionally more scarce as well, but not as uncommon as the breath version Godzilla.

So of course the ones I want are the rarer ones. Damn it. I wonder how much they'll cost opened at cons?

I picked up the missing female Muto off eBay, shipped for $7.50... I was hoping to avoid that by going direct, but you see how that turned out.

The Godzilla with breath is the same exact sculpture as the standard. The only difference is the back has paint on it...the tail does not have any differences so the repaint is incomplete. The breath piece itself is flimsy and looks really cheesy compared to the detail of the sculpts. It is the one to skip in my opinion as well.

The triangle thighs are a tad strange but not horrible to me. One arm doesn't want to move and I'm afraid of breaking something if I force it, but that's why God gave us hair driers, right?

All and all I love the detail on this thing.

The Mosu-Goji is, in my opinion, the best Godzilla from the line. Although I have yet to pick up my Burning Godzilla from the post office.

Gotta be freaking kidding me. For my birthday, I bought a set of the HG figures from HLJ because it was certain to have at least ONE complete set, right? Because for the last however many years they have hag HG figures, I've always gotten a complete set.
Nope. Just like all of you guys, 7 Godzillas and 1 Godzilla with breath.

Anyone willing to sell one of each MUTO? Or trade?
