I very much agree with whoever said if looks an awful lot like the dark horse comics godzilla. It really DOES.

So... After over a week of waiting, these two FINALLY came in!!!

Image

They both look so FRIGGIN AWESOME!!!!!! I'm very very satisfied... EXCEPT for a few things...

1. My NECA 24 inch Godzilla can't seem to move his lef in any further, so I have this ugly gap. I don't know if it's something I have to break in or what, but it bothers the hell out of me. Putting the tail in was a piece of cake, and everything else seems okay, except this.
Image

2. My 1994 Godzilla's right wrist seems to be stuck, or glued, or something!!! I can't rotate it, and I'm worried that if I keep pulling, it'll rip off. Seriously, WTF?!
Image Image

3. My NECA figure came out of the box a little roughed up. I don't know if you can see this, but on the right side of his jaw it looks like he's had some scraped or something. Bugs me. It's not the most important thing in the world, but come on...
Image

HELLLLP!!!!

My conclusion is that, both of these figures look AMAZING!!! They really do, and they're super sturdy. But I suddenly understand what people mean when they say, "quality control". Come on NECA! They're figures look amazing! This 24 inch Godzilla is, in my opinion, the BEST 2014 Godzilla figure BY FAR. With that said, these are little things that shouldn't be an issue. I understand if I have to break a figure in, but I don't want to risk BREAKING my figure, especially considering how much this guy costs. Now I really dislike it when people have the "I pay money so I can "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" and moan and act like royalty" type mentality, but these are little things that really shouldn't be an issue. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to support their Godzilla line, and I will continue to do so, BUT as a person who's fairly new to this brand, I am quite disappointed in the shape that some of these figures turned out. The sculpt, design, paint, and articulation is GREAT, but that all goes down the drain if my figures can't even move where they're supposed to.

It should be possible to break the seal that's keeping your wrist and leg joint stuck out of proper position with some applied use of heat. Due to the big Goji's size, you may want to opt for a hair dryer at least for him rather than hot water. It's one of NECA's less severe but nonetheless common issues of joints getting stuck due to paint that seeps into the figure joints.

My NECA has the same thing for that first leg issue, i think its just lazy engineering without full consideration of the sculpt work... between that and the big hole in his chest, it kind of broke the proverbial camel's back for me on articulated figures.

Yech.....I was considering the 24" as an impulse buy if I happened to come across it, but those pics, klen7..... Yeah, I think I'm skipping this.

Saw the '94 at TRU and it looked pretty neat. Like others have said, you have to really stare at it to make out any green highlights. He looks the appropriate dark gray.

Wondering about getting the 12" tall Godzilla '14. Do I really have room for another giant figure? Maybe I'll just get another 6", as mine is one of the erroneous paint job ones and I see new ones with the proper detail work all over lately. I guess my Banpresto G2K will stay my only big Godzilla figure... forever locked in mortal combat with my McFarland King Kong.

Holy crap. I knew the 12" tall version of LegendGoji had another annoying fin gap like SHMA MosuGoji, but I had no idea how bad it could really get. That's pinching a significant portion of the body mass in for the sake of that joint. Had no idea the leg issue wasn't a one-off either, makes it more likely that's a design flaw and not a frozen or unseated joint.

Nope.. really your only option is to choose one gap or the other... if you close the fin gap it makes the front gap larger and if you close the the front gap making him bend over, it makes the fin gap even bigger than the fin gap picture i posted... Anything in between leaves you with two gaps.

i've opted for closing the fin gap, because that looks the best from the most angles imho.

The 24 inch HTT (I REALLY wish they would have just used 6 and 12 inch tall descriptions, but I digress) is an amazing figure. Honestly he's fun to mess with and he's huge to boot - if you're on the fence you should get him. He's an improvement over the smaller 6in tall figure and he's got a loud roar feature (which sounds great btw). I'm not upset in the least I picked him up.

I need to see the 94 neca in person before I buy him. Sometimes I see him and he looks great - at other times he looks incredibly derpy.

Thanks Raptor, I'll have to try that with my 12 inch.i got the hand of my 1994 figure to loosen up, but with the help of hearing, using a screwdriver to ply into the joint, and lots of twisting.

I also have to say, while I'm not happy with the flaws of the quality, the figured themselves are GREAT!! Especially with the 24 inch Godzilla. Pictures do NOT do him justice, and he's WAY bigger than I anticipated.

So... is the 1994 Godzilla's head suppose to be articulated? Because I was just moving mine around, and his head ripped off...

Believe I'd heard that NECA made the choice to glue the head in place, but in some figures you could simply break the glue seal and give it movement. Guess you got one of the ones that held the seal harder than others...
