Yeah, I'm not really digging the whole "Giant Behemoth" skin texture. Seem's an odd way to go as the '94 suit didn't have any scales that I can remember...

He's surprisingly articulated, that's for sure. I am not fond of the overall color or finish.

Love how people are bitching that it isn't 100% accurate and then are like "OMFG! SH GODZILLA 2014 LOOKS AMAZINGNESS!!!"

Well, he does look amazing. The molding here for Godzilla 94 is just weird, in that the finish is a shiny blue-green. I don't mind some slight artistic licenses so long as the result is nice. I like their efforts in the G2014 and 84 a lot more.

Knowing what the MA '94 Godzilla looks like and how it both scales with and looks when posed with the other GvsSG characters, the NECA really doesn't look like it belongs. It's a "realistic", articulated toy, but there's something about the style of this figure that seems to set it apart from the MonsterArts stuff.

Then again, it's just $20.

Things like the initial 84' sculpt, the weird skin texture, making things green, and the use of a BC vinyl...
it's like NECA just sort of did a one minute glance at a google image search of Godzilla and said "Alright, we've seen enough." and went to town.

I think the toy is fine for what it is though, it's certainly not awful.

The main difference of Godzilla 2000's SHMonsterarts figure is that they went with the original design Yuji Sakai went with, not Shinichi Wakasa's suitmation design. Not sure about what artistic licenses they took with Gigan, but G2K is for all intents and purposes accurate and not a deviation of a design.

video review of the new 94. It looks pretty good in the white background. I think NECA's choice for the shiny treatment probably gives it a Trendmasters look. I think if they were to not use the shiny treatment, they could really have a monster figure on their line.

The SHMA isn't that far off. It more closely remebles the G14 design than the NECA G84 does the G84 suit, but that's semantics. I'll be getting both.

They should do a 2.0 reissue of the 1994 figure down the road. "Now with accurate colors!" :P The sculpt looks OK, but I have more than enough green Godzillas in my Trendmasters collection for now.

The Bandai Godzilla '54 figure on the packaging cracks me up, right up there with Sony's DVD cover for GODZILLA VS. HEDORAH.

Considering the packaging for the G'14 and classic line are the same as Bandai's I think we're looking at some mandate that the packaging be the same across the board.

I don't even think it's debatable that the SH Godzilla 14 is different from the film design. Skin, head, toes, coloring and even body composition are all slightly tweaked (for the better in a lot of opinions, mine included) in the SH figure.

Which, is a complicated this for me...I prefer figures of the actual suits or designs used in the films. I think the film G2K is superior to the design marquette, and I refuse to collect anything G2K related that's not based on the suit.

But this one time, I'm going with the non-film design because I hate the film design and the figure fixes almost every problem I have with it.

I love how we all say "suit" for G 14 even when it's all CGI. Old habits die hard lol.

To each their own. I'm happy for the people that love the G 14 "suit", or the G 85 NECA...it's all good.

It's easier to say suit than CGI. I like the CGI of the 2014 Godzilla just doesn't clarify anything. Do you like the CGI used in the movie? The CGI used on the monster? The CGI in general? What are you saying?

When you say, "I like the suit of the 2014 Godzilla," it implies you like the design of Godzilla himself.

And the 2014 design, while not the best, was still incredibly done and is one of the better ones.
