The G84 figure looks much better, but they still can't get Godzilla's color right. I'll stick to my Bandai for now, though I'm sure this figure will have all the range of motion the suit didn't!

That picture should go to show what a difference a pose can make.. adjusting the legs makes him look less like Big Bird, posing one arm over the articulation hides the waist looking like its corseted in, and not turning the other arm in towards the body makes it seem less long.

I might get crap for this, but I think NECA's Godzilla '14 is superior to SHMA's. Granted, the former has more detail and (I guess) more articulation, but it doesn't capture the likeness as wonderfully as NECA did.

those green highlights on G85 are like some promo materials seen where he is greenish. It would be nice if they showed a frontal view. That is one head on angle they did not show.

NECA just said on Twitter that on next week they would do a comparison pic (or pics) of Godzilla 1985 sized in with the Legendary Goji (of that size scale) and the Godzilla 1994 figure.

They have also considered the NES Godzilla for a figure as well...that means Goji 64 in a cool blue color. :P

I have no nostalgic connection to the NES Godzilla game, but I think a blue Godzilla '64 would be a cool thing to have.

... no reason it can't be, like, a convention variant for a wide-release, normal Godzilla '64 toy.

So umm... Has anyone picked up the '94 figure from NECA's ebay account yet?

Unavoidable...

Godzilla 84 looking better now, and it should give us an idear of how these will scale with other figures.

The 84 one is definitely cool, but I still don't care for their 94 one. There is just something I do not like about his head and the V legs.

What are V Legs? Is that similar to what Mattel does with T Crotches?

A few people on FB have gotten the NECA '94. I don't want to be too hard on it there, because it's not right to straight out blast a piece of someone's collection. But while I guess it's all right for a $20 toy, I still think it looks pretty terrible, especially head on. It's got this strange, pin head look to it and a bow-legged stance that would put even the most spread-eagled MonsterArts to shame. It doesn't even come close to touching even the very first MA Godzilla. not sure why they called this thing the '94 Godzilla, because it doesn't look like ANY particular suit.

I think it'd look better overall if he weren't a blue/green color.

In the long run, this is going to be a figure line that's going to get a free pass, and I think even legit complains will, by and large, be shouted down. They're really cheap, and as a friend of mine said today, they're really a poor man's MonsterArts. These are going to sell really, really well because they're realistic, affordable and articulated. I'm not saying the figure is godawful or anything, but it's far from perfect, and doesn't resemble any specific Heisei suit at all.

Free pass huh?

I think thats a fair assessment, based on how many people were going to buy G84 anyway when it was first revealed.

But now I am really wondering whats the next one that will be revealed. They practically gave away Godzilla 54 (56?) and hinted at a Godzilla 64.
