Terror of Mechagodzilla on AMC

Postby GFan » Mon Feb 16, 2004 3:35 pm

Terror of Mechagodzilla will be shown on AMC Saturday, February 21st @ 2:00AM (err.. 2:30 now that I check this different version of the movie guide..)

I didn't know AMC was still showing "classic" movies. heh heh. I looked over their movie guide, I can't believe they showed "Robinson Crusoe On Mars" and 'The Land Unknown' again and I missed it! damn!

Yeah, although I wonder how anyone could get excited over this badly edited version of the movie. I really wish Toho would give someone an international print to use.

Cy, if you really want to see a good version of Terror of Mechagodzilla, stay away from the AMC airing at all costs.

Well, duh, but what choice do I have? I've never seen boots that look like they're worth half a glance. -_-

*looks at shoes*

Oh, you mean these don't count?

If you know where I can get one, PM me details--but I can't buy one in the near future because I just blew my money of Godzilla 1985

You blew your money on the wrong film then.

Watching an edited version of TofMG on AMC is just going to give you a negative impression about the film, and lord knows you need a few more positive things to say about the showa films. LOL!!

All in good fun Cy. I think the movie is alot better than most of the other 70s films. Read up on the REAL ending if you get the chance.

Yeah, if I don't like it very much I won't get on it's case--it's unfairly handicapped, I know.

Ruining the mood of the entire ending of a movie is more than a little unfair, LOL

I've only seen the US version of this movie and I actually watched it yesterday. Even though this is one of my favorites, I have to say watching it again as I am older I can see the bad editing and how some scenes just make you say, where did Godzilla just come from?

Now that you mention the other ending, I'm very curious the the japanese version.

I never DID see the end until James Ballard posted the Windows Media clip of it.

It's a cool movie. IMO it's not as fun as its predecessor, but it's probably better-made. Great score.

Yeah, you know what really pissed me off?

When FX showed commercials for their fullscreened version of Predator, and showed a fullscreen image cropped to widescreen, but the bars dissapeared showing the whole fullscreen image while the announder said, "The FULLSCREEN version of Predator!!!" to make it seem as if fullscreen actually showed more image than widescreen. Great, another way to un-educate the masses.

OH MY GOD THAT PISSES ME OFF SO MUCH! I'm always like

"YOU SONS A B*TCHES, NO ONE DISRESPECTS WIDESCREEN LIKE THAT!"

Also.....isn't the TV version of TOMG less edited than the video release? (guns and violence but lacks katsura)
