You're right Legion, obviously Godzilla is going to rally Rodan and Ghidorah to take on the dreaded Armored Mothra.

It's the most over-used, "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" monster line-up no matter how you look at it, especially when you consider Rodan was essentially used in the last film. I was looking forward to something new, or weird (Giant Condor, Kameoba, and Battra would have been cool). This is generic and obvious.

-King Ghidorah needs to be an absolute..no need for pseudo science exposition.
-Mothra should just be a "red shirt", there to be mangled so as to establish the threat of the other monsters.
-I pray they return the monster to their proper scale in comparison to goji.
--Will the grit and scale of G'14 be maintained given the potential scale of the spectacle with that many monsters?..
-No Emp means monster vs military right?

Mothra has also defeated both Godzilla and King Ghidorah. Why make her a "red shirt" when she's a total bad ass?

Gee guys, hopefully Wonder Woman dies in the first five minutes of Batman vs Superman... Ya know, just to show that the bad guys are strong or something.

Ugh. Some of the complaints in this thread...

Really? Mothra is overused, but Battra (a blatant Mothra rip off) is ok?

Where's the logic in that? And I like Battra, but let's all be realistic - LP was always more likely to reuse Toho's popular monsters because they have box office appeal and people know them. There's nothing more awesome than the idea of a properly realized KG facing Godzilla. A giant three-headed dragon destroying cities? I'll take that over a new monster or other Toho monsters any day.

And speculation is fun, but let's not get carried away and literally criticize the new movie as of we know anything about the plot.

Wow.. This movie won't come out for 4 years and were complaining already? Some of you guys.... I welcome classic foes, and hoping they will have more MUTOs. Old and new can mix.

What Cookson said. Complaining is pointless at this point. We have no idea how this is being done, and we won't know anything else, probably, until, like, this time next year. Relax.

I like the idea of them spreading these three over the course of the next two films. Outside of Destroyah, I've always viewed Ghidorah as Godzilla's arch-nemesis, the Lex Luthor to his Superman I guess you could say. Save him for the third film... Assuming that the 2nd one does well financially...

I liked the last film, it clearly had it's weaknesses, but I think those things are all fixable. Fix on negatives, give us more kaiju screentime, and I think we'd be looking at another summer blockbuster!!

I don't know, if I didn't know anything about GMK and you showed me the monster roster, I'd have NEVER guessed the plot based off if that.

I think Toho overused Mothra and Ghidorah in the last few decades... but a lot of that is that I thought they weren't executed well. They were continually used but never lived up to what great characters they used to be. My feelings towards seeing them in the Legendary series is completely different because after seeing Godzilla and the MUTOs so well-realized I believe they'll do the creatures justice in a way that hasn't been done since the '80s.

I believe after I saw Godzilla '14 for the first time I made a comment like "Godzilla hasn't felt this alive since Haruo Nakajima played him."

Perhaps it's just my lack of imagination, but I don't see how a continued "slow burn" approach(as has been stated by Edwards himself) is going to work with, not just 2, but 4 different monsters. I just hope that the writer/writers have a clear idea of what they want to say with this, which was my main problem with G '14. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the new Godzilla, I just felt that the writing(for the most part)was lacking. Oh well, no point in worrying yet as there is more than enough time to iron things out...
