What's the deal with the ridiculously long 2nd toe claw? The feet on the '94 sculpt look more accurate to the '84 suit than the feet on the '84 figure....

I dunno. The facebook pic looks a little better. The neck doesn't look as slender, and the head seems to flow better into the neck so the chipmunk cheeks aren't so pronounced. Although that bow legged pose is doing it no favors, and again the lighting is making this look more blue than anything. I heard the phrase "Gabazilla" over at TK, and its unfortunately appropriate. However, I do like that it looks like in normal lighting its not that blueish.

I dunno. I'm on the fence. If I buy this, it won't be because of accuracy. On the other hand, I am liking that 94 the more I see it.

edit: Loaded the new pic and the promo pic into paint so I could look at them side by side. The necks look quite different. The head on the new pic looks larger too. Granted it might be the camera angle and its likely the neck articulation was adjusted. That weird long toe isn't on the initial promo pic either.

The amount of people on other boards who keep saying, "Oh my God it's so ugly!!!! But I'm buying it anyway" saddens the crap out of me.

The head is truly ugly... and every body part seems slightly out-of-proportion with each other, weird.

Seriously, how does this happen? Wonderful figure ('14), decent figure ('94), and now quality goes completely out the window... Now that I think about it, it's no unbelievable: small company, certain products have more priority and get attention lavished on them while others are hastily put together as a deadline swiftly approaches. All I can say is that I hope they do better. I'd love some great Showa era figures.

I'm looking forward to getting my foot tall Godzilla '14. It looks like one of the coolest Godzilla toys I've ever seen, really. When will it be out?

The 84 is crap.

The 94....looks serviceable, but I'm not overly impressed with it.

well NECA can do a great job with 3D files. If they had done the King Kong 2005 film figures instead of the Playmates, they would have had the "MonsterArts" style Kong way back in 2005. Saw this on Import Monsters blog...

The gorilla looks really good. I already posted a size comparison between Maurice from the new POTAs movie, and it looked almost as big as the Tamashii Kong.

^Not the same, man. Those old ones were gigantic and as a kid they'd be half my size. They were also sturdy and jammed with features that kid me would adore.

I have a Shogun Warriors Raydeen from my childhood. My older brother had Mazinga and Godzilla. The Mazinga is now owned by my little brother, but my other brother had painted highlights and detailing on it so it's a bit less awesome than it could be. I have no idea where his Godzilla ended up but I have the rocket fist. Hope to find the rest of it hidden away at my parent's house one day.

Yeah these things are like two and a half feet tall and made to be played with hard. I have several Soul of Chogokin figures, they're nice, but it's definitely apples and oranges.

Well, at least NECA still knows how to make great movie accurate sculpts. Their Alien Ripley with the flame thrower is down right incredible looking.

So I might have found images that may explain why Godzilla looks so long. Well, it is probably nothing really, but maybe they used these shots:

The only reason I point those out is because when I was going through the poster book last night they made me think of the NECA toy's elongated arms, legs, and neck. Still doesn't explain the green color though.

Ugh the Cybot... That was my biggest worry actually. I was hoping for the suit and they went with the Cybot of all things.
