It's a shame that Neca made such a terrible figure. The 84 toy was extremely anticipated before they revealed it - now it will bomb.

You know, after looking at all these 84 movie images and then not seeing them for a bit, going back for a fresh look at the Neca I can kind of see the 84 influence in it. Then I see an 84 movie image and I'm immediately struck by how nuts I was for even thinking that. I guess my point is that they looked at images of parts but never the whole when they finally put it all together. Well, except for the head.

I'm wondering if a neck mod might help. Take out that mid neck, shave it down, and then adjust the head post so the head's not sitting so high. I'm trying to think of ways to make this a purchase. Its not easy.

As they say "Vote with your wallets". I cancelled my pre-order. And anyone who doesn't like it should not buy it.

This makes me really sad because Godzilla 84 is probably in the top 5 of favorite Godzilla designs and I only have one toy of it (the Memorial Box!)

The good thing is, at least both 2014 figures look good, and that 1992-1994 Godzilla looks cool too. Works for me. I'll hold off on the 1984 figure until I see some live photos. If it looks the same, let's just hope that people will NOT buy it and eventually give us one that LOOKS like the actual 1984 suit.

saw this posted over at Import Monsters blog and this makes "the figure of the hour" look a little better. The colors look more Goji like and maybe, just maybe it looks better in person than what we saw in the TK promo exclusive. The 94 Goji is above it. This is NECA setting up at CC.

Nope, he still looks like big bird. Too bad, the '94 looks like it might be pretty nice. A real shame the '84 is so lackluster. Like many others here, I was really really looking forward to this release as the '84 is one of my absolute favorites (film and suit). But I'm not gonna buy something that looks like crap.

^ the tail looks thicker than what was shown in the pics. I magnified it and maybe it isn't quite so bad as we all saw it to be. Why I say that is that the arms look not as thin as what we first saw and had impressions of. Well I know someone who is going to the Con and I asked him to get pics of the Godzilla stuff from NECA and if Tamashii shows off anything. We will have to see what the coverage looks like this weekend.

Maybe its like a SHMA where you have to pose it "right" to close all the gaps and shrink him down to suit accurate size
