So $51 more than regular KG's retail price. Okay, I can deal with that. I was preparing for closer to $200 so that's nice. Still going to take some time to pony up that amount of scratch.

Does Japan really include taxes in the list price? In the US we only do that for things like gas (and to a lesser extent cigarettes)

I don't CARE what Mecha King Ghidorah's price is...I WILL OWN HIM. That is a fantastic sculpt of my favorite 90's era kaiju. It will be worth it to me. I recently bought the MonsterArts Mothra and was very pleased! Mine hasn't had any issues with things popping off or falling apart like I have had with a few others (my G2000 is an absolute fragile mess)...it's absolutely beautiful. Now for Battra and the larva set...

$25 less than $200 is still close enough.

gentle reminder to keep it civil, people. things seem to have gotten themselves back on track, but you were trending dangerously for a little bit.

Something positive here...anyone else prefer the SH Monsterarts version of G2014 to the one in the film?

The SHM figure looks vaguely Japanese to me. It's awesome, while the version from the film is one of my least-liked Godzilla designs ever.

What I really like more than anything though was the matte look of the skin texture. It does not look so reflective or shiny in comparison

Another good point...so, so far we have:

-Better skin texture
-Better feet
-Better face
-Better body proportions

Yo, so does anyone know a store where I could buy the Heisei 2.0 Monsterarts that just came out in Japan? As in before waiting for Bluefin to release it here.

Any help would be well appreciated.

I've been saying since this figure was first announced - I wished it looked more like this in the film. And its not taking anything away from the film design, because 90% of the time I think Godzilla looks great in the film, I just think the figure is better.

Honestly if it weren't for that $10 price drop, I wouldn't be getting Godzilla 2.0. Of course, it also looks like he is already discontinued in Japan, so yeaaaah.

If I had the money, I would get the larva set, but I do not. I'll get them in Oct or Nov.

Some sources claim the figure has been retooled, but I'm not sure what exactly has been tweaked. I still don't see anything beyond the new paint job.

Yes, it does have some retooled adjustments. Pictures don't do it justice if you're looking for evidence though. It's a sorta you have to hold it in your hand to notice the differences. From my understanding, it's made of the same material as G2K allowing for even better articulation than Burning G or Godzilla 1994. The obvious color change. Many toolings and textures through out the body, making slightly more muscular than Burning G. Dorsal fins are slightly different from the Burning G mold in terms of placement and size. The heads articulation design is slightly improved.

I did hear from my JP contact about Godzilla (Adult Jr.) that it's pretty much almost sold out in Japan. This could be an indication of how well it will perform here in NA. My prediction is that it'll sell out quick, even faster than G2K since it's rather affordable, comes with an effect part, and that a whole batch of new, (mostly new) and old collectors want it.
