The 'Burning' Godzilla FW is a clever variant (one I wouldn't mind seeing applied to other Godzilla figures), but not something I'd go out of my way to purchase. The Marmit Burning Godzilla look excellent, but Marmit's always been to expensive for me. The 60th anniversary resin kit looks awesome, too! These are some really cool figures we've got coming.

From the first time I saw it, I got the feeling that the Anguirus was an alternate build, not that the kit included enough pieces for them both.

New pictures of Bandai's G14 and MUTO have been released... I've gotta say, MUTO looks way better close-up.


Godzilla's paint quality has gone down a bit from the prototype's, but that was to be expected. It still looks awesome.

Akira Ifukube 100th Birth Anniversary & Toho Movie Monster 60th Anniversary Premium Souvenir Poster. This limited B2 size poster will be available at the Godzilla Birth 60th Anniversary & 4th Akira Ifukube Music Festival held in Tokyo. There will be a full screening of the 1954 "Godzilla" movie with a full live performance by the orchestra of all the music to match it. Price of poster 1,300 yen (1,404 tax). Release July 13, 2014.

i'd also argue, that in the US it is difficult to find any variant for under $150. I had been strongly considering picking up the upcoming Diamond release even though i don't particularly like the paint job just so i could get an affordable version of this sculpt.

huh. I think I like it, but I'm not sure. It's....odd. I do like it better than the Diamond exclusive color though. Will this be released stateside or is it a normal (or some sort of exclusive) Japanese release? Not that it really matters anyway as I probably wont be buying many collectables any time soon. Especially not pricier ones.

With the Diamond releases, in most cases you need to preorder them. Diamond does solicits months in advance and then by the time it sends the products to the stores (at least in the case of X-Plus and Marmit) there are minimal (if any available) for reorder. So if a store finds they are popular and wants to order more they may be SOL. Some stores (moreso larger ones on online) will get a few to sell, but most Mom and Pop comic shops aren't going to take a risk on something so niche unless they have a pretty strong lead on a sale (preorder)... so long story short, get your preorders in early with either your FLCS or an online dealer. I think Midtown Comics usually sells all their Marmits through preorders.. i think preorders started in June on the Marmit Desugoji (my local shopkeeper showed me the solicit when i picked up RoE 12) so they might still be open to the end of July.. also usually Amazon has them as well

you can use a middle man service to order Marmits, Gigabrains and X-Plus Ricboys. I have been using Goody-Japan for a few years to get stuff off of YAJ (and the occasional Gigabrain or Ricboy).. There may be a better one out there... i have asked a number of times and the only option i have seen someone say they have used was Shopping Mall Japan. (or the occasional, "Just ask Mike Johnson to get it for you") The fees can really add up (although not usually more than the aftermarket ebay markup)

Assuming this Vinyl War line doesn't get into the $100+ range, this could be a line I may be interested in. Assuming, with shipping and all, they round out to be $50-$60 range.
