It would really be neat if Akira Takarada has a bigger role in the sequel and play a colleague or even a relative to Ken Watanabe's Dr Serizawa.

It would actually be really awesome if Takarada would play Serizawa's father, but since it was clearly established that Serizawa's father was dead, that won't be a possibility for the sequel. Still it would've been awesome :D

I would like to see more monarch characters any way so Akira Takarada being a colleague would be a plus.

If we get a sequel as strong as Dawn of the Planet of the Apes I'll be very happy.

Honestly seems early to do anything at comic con... Not saying I wouldn't mind hearing anything

I'm just hoping they learn from the first film and change the overall approach. The slow burn thing seemed to draw mixed reviews. The lack of Godzilla was also a sore spot for many. Honestly the characters were a mixed bag, sans Cranston. There's a lot about the movie I enjoyed, but there are several Godzilla movies ahead of this one on my list.

I also want a full blown Godzilla rampage.

My favorite rebuttal against the lack of Godzilla in this film is the retort that "Godzilla Final Wars had a similar level of Godzilla screen-time."

...okay. That's not really helping your cause.

I can understand if someone mentions Monster Zero, but that films plot ALONE carries that film.

i think they should change their approach, but keep the sense of scale they kept in the first film. I love how each shot is told from a specific view, it gave so much scale and gravitas to everything.

I think they should wait. Keep the same approach (slow burn, perspective shots for the monsters), but concentrate on creating more interesting human leads and giving better roles to women. Having the two main females being defined by dying to motivate the male hero or sitting around waiting for the man to come home is kinda pathetic, especially in a series that has had great female characters since the original in '54.

I'd kinda like the roles to be reversed in Godzilla 2: several Godzilla scenes throughout the film and keep the enemy monster in suspense. It makes dramatic sense and preserves the impact they achieved with Godzilla in the first film.
