Love the warning for the T-Rex. They could've used that in the first film.

I just noticed the picture of the animatronic raptor was never posted here, so here it is:

As you can see they've gone back to the JP/TLW design, including the slit pupil "cat eye". Color is different though, we're getting green raptors now it seems.

This is shaping up to be my most highly anticipated film of 2015. At this point, there are expectations that Jurassic Park will feature biologically inaccurate dinosaurs, so I'm 100% ok with that continuing.

If a different series wants to do more realistic, feathered dinosaurs, I'm 100% ok with that, too. A fully functional Jurassic Park, I really just hope this movie lives up to that potential.

I agree, I have absolutely nothing against more scientifically accurate dinosaurs, in fact I'd love to see someone attempt to portray them in a different movie. This however is a Jurassic Park sequel, and continuity trumps all. For JP I want my reptilian, stuck in the early '90s, movie monster dinosaurs.

Hollywood movies are not responsible for educating the masses on scientific fact.

Even the first Jurassic Park movie knew that and knew that well. It's why they gloss over so much of the SCIENCE that's present in the science fiction story of the book...the movie wisely cuts to the characters and the heart of the STORY rather than bogging itself down in the scientific minutia. Stan Winston and crew didn't set out to make realistic dinosaurs with scientific accuracy, they set out to make creatures in a movie that would look and act believable to audiences as really existing in order to create suspension of disbelief and transport audiences to a different universe. Mission: accomplished.

The funny thing is, a lot of feathered dino concepts and models and stuff I've seen look more like movie monsters than the movie monsters of Jurassic Park.

All I'll say is that Jaws is a masterpiece despite making people irrationally afraid of sharks and the ocean and causing the deaths of many many great whites.

It's not a movies job to educate people on science and this franchise has always take liberties with its dinos. That's what documentaries, museums, books, etc are for and I think more people realize things like that now than they did when movies like Jaws and the first JP came out.

Last night I watched Safety Not Guaranteed (2012), Colin Trevorrow's first film.

It's wasn't bad, but I knew right up front it wasn't for me. It was well made for what it was, but it's not exactly the type of film I actively seek out. It was basically one of those 'trying too hard to be a quirky independent dramedy' type things I usually can't stand. It's something I only sought out because I knew the director was doing a Jurassic Park movie. It sort of reminded me of watching Gareth Edwards' Monsters (2010), only I was much more impressed by that as a directorial debut and surely would have seen and liked it even if Edwards hadn't signed on to a Godzilla movie.

Again, I didn't think it was bad, it had some nice character moments and a faint sense of wonder I expect to see on a more grand scale in Jurassic World. I just hope Trevorrow can take on a big action/adventure movie like this.
