If that's the case, then there should be a whole range of radiation spawned prehistoric creatures other than Godzilla just waiting for their turn.

In the making of book it refers to the fossilized creature as simply "creature" and it shows a tiny picture of the fossil and it deff does not appear to be related to Godzilla. It's almost snake like actually.

In the first draft, where they find the MUTO spore in the arctic, it is a Godzilla but I think that was removed in the later draft.

Can someone please explain to me how on earth can Transformers 4 get a higher rating than Godzilla from audiences? I simply do not understand this

Godzilla wasn't perfect, it had it's fault but I will never understand how most people enjoyed a pile of crap like T4 more than Godzilla. It just gives me a headache thinking about it LOL!

Godzilla ( 4 stars )

Transformers Age of Extinction ( 4 1/2 stars )

For whatever reason, the Transformers movies are INSANELY popular. Godzilla is not Transformers, therefore won't be as popular and won't be rated as highly by audiences.

Also, I feel like, at four films, the only people who are even really paying attention to Transformers anymore are fans, whereas Godzilla had to find its audience.

It's not just Transformers. Those crappy Adam Sandler movies get alot of undeserving attention as well. I don't get some peoples sense of humor these days.

I came in deceived, expecting The Return Of Godzilla Draft 1 with Hans Zimmer influenced BBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRMMMMMMMs, but came out satisfied and am glad it came out that way.

Agreed, though I will point out that the "character-driven" part of the story doesn't go hand in hand with the "interesting" parts of the movie, in the opinions of many viewers, fans and non-fans alike.

Really, you could argue that the story wasn't character driven at all since precisely one human character has any appreciable impact on the proceedings whatsoever.

I think everyone is a bit too hard on ATJ. The man did the best he could do with the material he was given. He had two speaking lines in the last 25 minutes of the movie, for God's sake. He didn't have very much to work with. His scenes with Bryan Cranston were good; he just didn't have an actor to play off of, at all, for the remainder of the movie.

I think the biggest problem with the Ford Brody character (and the script, really) is how he just seems to wander along with the action during much of the second act. Specifically, I'm talking about the scene after the Honolulu incident, the scene where he's walking around in Lone Pine while all the soldiers attend to duty around him, and the scene where he's the only survivor of the train attack, as he wakes up in the mud and stumbles over to the nearby rescue forces. Those scenes are flat and lack momentum. Ford is great during all of the action scenes but they could have come up with some better transitional scenes to reinforce the decision to have the story follow that particular character.
