I didn't think PR was a great movie but it was popcorn eating fun. Guillermo and Beacham created a fascinating world that is ripe for more exploration. Hope that a sequel is greenlit.

Good to hear there's still hope for a sequel. Hopefully if Godzilla is a success it might encourage them to really get the ball rolling on it, as well as others to potentially co-finance it.

Well it seems like everybody wants to do one (or maybe that's just lip-service, but I don't know why they would lie..), especially Tull, GDT, and Beachmam -the most powerful players in making it happen. But in all honesty I think I would be shocked if it really came to fruition. GDT is notorious for talking up potential projects and never getting around to them.

That website has a reputation for bogus sh*t. Not only that, they don't list a single source. It also said Godzilla was successful in Russia, but it hasn't opened there yet.

I can see Legendary looking to bring out a PR sequel around 2-3 years from now IF they want Gareth Edwards to direct the Godzilla sequel and his commitment to the the Star Wars movie means the G sequel arrives no sooner than 4 years from now.

But it doesn't take any secret sources to guess that, it's just a reasonable conclusion. Bringing up a PR sequel to active status and releasing it will help maintain the connection of kaiju & super robot movies with Legendary. And presumably, just like PR had people talking about Godzilla a sequel to PR would help keep people wondering about Godzilla's sequel.

I'm hoping for a Pacific Rim sequel, would be great to hear an official announcement.

I don't know what all goes into a theatrical re-release, but it would be cool if to see Pacific Rim in theaters again; particularly after the new Godzilla movie has been in theaters.
