Actually, Kiryu (2003) is a new sculpt whereas Adult junior is a retool of the 1995 figure.

The fact that NECA's upcoming foot tall/two foot long Godzilla is going to cost the same as the MonsterArts version is pretty funny.

I guess. I'll never understand why everybody gets so mad about this line. I mean, as said before, there are weird things like the Kiryu price, but generally it makes sense for these things to be this much.

Do people rant and rave about the cost of X-Plus or Marmit MH or whathaveyou like this?

I think it's primarily older fans that rant about this line, and to be fair, I think it's about the rabid fanboys moreso than the figures themselves. Almost every single person dubbed as a "hater" of this line owns at least a handful of SHMA figures.

There's a very vocal, annoying sect of younger fans who really seem to use every chance they get to trumpet how this line is superior to everything else. Yes, X Plus fans (I'm one) could probably be just as annoying at times...but X Plus fans are generally older (they have to be to afford such expensive figures) and I don't think I've ever met an X Plus fan who ONLY collects X Plus figures.

Point is, I really think this is a case where some of us are confusing our emotions about the annoying rabid fans of the line for the line itself. The figures are decent, and if they ever released a Gamera 95 or 96 I'd pick them up in a heartbeat.

And there are PLENTY of level-headed fans of this line, it's just the few bad apples that have really soured the whole experience for the older fans.

Yeah I know Gamera has been brought up several times before to Tamashi and they just haven't seemed very interested yet. I'm sure they'll do one eventually, but I don't think we will get a huge assortment of figures. I suspect we will get a Gamera 99 (Revoltech never did one and that design of Gamera appeals to the same demographic that the Hesei Godzilla series does) and maybe a Hyper Gyaos. That'd be about it though from the first 50 years of Gamera. Maybe something from the new film though, but who knows.

I think they'll be sticking to Heisei for a while, since that's whats really popular over there, and popular enough to get stuff released here.

This sounds blasphemous, but I'd like it if they ever get to Mothra trilogy stuff since Kawakita always has his hands in stuff over there at Bandai. Then maybe they'd do a Grand Ghidorah. :D

Yeah I don't think it'll happen. Like I said, at most, I expect to see a 99 Gamera and a Hyper Gyaos and that's it.

I'm still sad the Revoltech side didn't last long enough to do a Guiron.

My appreciation for Revoltech has definitely grown since the line was canceled...but even when they were coming out, they had some of the best packaging around.

I mean, if people are doing what they want with their own money, why should it matter you who's getting "ripped off?" Did Bandai run over your dog or something

Nevermind that; they probably have run over people's dogs to get to the top.

I keep saying I want a Mechaghidorah but honestly, I don't know if I'd want to pay for one. It would be much bigger than the regular Ghidorah thanks to the larger wings and bulkier body, not to mention all the extra plastic needed for the metal braces, leg sections, etc. And of it ended up being a web exclusive we're looking at a $150-$200 figure, easy.

I think I'm done with Ghidorah as far as articulated figures go. Unless Bandai does something crazy like Grand Ghidorah, Death Ghidorah, or Kaiser Ghidorah.

There will definitely be use of diecast on the MKG figure. Most likely in the legs, but I wouldn't mind if the torso or wings had it as well. I'm betting that it'll be $150.

Naruto65, this is off topic in that it's not Monsterarts, but do you know anything else regarding Tamashii's other lines? Like Super Robot Chogokin? I've heard rumors of Big O, Gravion, and some Braves for a year, and Big O and Fighbird were seen about a year ago and haven't seen anything come from it.

Well I got Mothra today and the figure herself is so freaking awesome. Unfortunately, I hate her stand because she will not sit flat on it. She is always tilted to one side and I think it has to do with one side of the holder being thicker than the other. It is really annoying. I feel like she is going to just fall out of it at any given moment. I don't have the left leg falling off like other people do, but that could be because I am a bit of afraid to touch them all that much. However, I must state that my god, she is big, very big. I was expecting her to be the same size as Rodan so this is incredible. My only problem is I expect Battra to be bigger and I did not account for that when I dived up my shelf space for those two.

I was surprised by her size too. I expected her to be roughly the same size as Battra. I'm done as far as Mothra figures go (unless Mothra 2016 happens? lol)
