I don't see why everyone's thinking 2018/2019. I'd say 2017 latest. Remember, if Edwards IS too busy to direct, they could bump him down to just producer.

I see no point in bringing back an old design unless it's literally supposed to be that incarnation of Godzilla.

GMKGoji worked mostly as a one-off anyways. Wouldn't really work in another film, in my opinion.

Anyone looking to see it again or in Imax 3D can win one of the cool Japan Flag Imax posters, just buy a ticket to tomorrows first evening (after Matinee) showing at a Regal Theatre in IMAX 3D.

I already confirmed with my local Regal that's the 6:30 showing here. May be different where you live.

Hopefully this helps keep ticket sales from tapering off. I think if it survives the X-men opening weekend and maybe one more its good to go as high as current predictions take it. DOFP isn't doing as well today but with its high reviews I'd be surprised if it doesn't close the weekend strong. Then again the best X-men, First Class IMO didn't do too hot financially.

Saw Godzilla again this afternoon. Theater was half packed. Fairly impressive audience for the second Friday 4:00 matinee I think.

Godzilla tanking in it's second weekend, down over 60%.

And this was Memorial Day weekend, which softens a film's drop.

WOM was toxic.

Well, Godzilla apparently made only 10 million today... Granted it was a very early Friday report,.. So I'm hoping actuals go up another million or two. That's nit q good drop if it stands at 10 million. We'll see when actuals come in or a newer update... But that drop kinda sucks... It shows that WOM for the film wasn't the best.

Estimates are now for a 8-9 million dollar Friday.

That is a disastrously bad hold and signifies very poor WOM.

I didn't think the film was a disaster, but the general public obviously felt that Edwards teasing battle scenes instead of showing them was a very, very poor idea.

This may not even get to 200 million, which is amazing considering the huge opening.
