It's funny how most sites are ignoring "Rifftrax" and playing up the MST3K angle, to the point where I've heard people say that Tom Servo and Crow are going to be involved somehow.

Holy Moley!

The answer to why MST3K isn't reran has always been the rights to show each movie, to which I've always replied: "aren't, like, 50 of the movies they used public domain?"

- and not all of those episodes from that list are in public domain, so some are licensed!

Watched some of Total Riff Off when it aired, but didn't have the time to watch them all-the-way through until this morning.

Really great stuff. I wondered if this format would work, but when you think of all the educational shorts MST3K did you realize it's not much of a stretch. Would be great if this becomes a regular thing.

Hm.

I'd rather see Viras, or Jiger, or Super Monster, or even Gamera the Brave than GotU...I think any of those is more mockable.

The ADV dub of GOTU could lend itself quite nicely to riffing.

I don't mind a movie I like getting riffed. There are several movies I really like that I was introduced to through MST3K; those fantastic Russian fantasy films, for example.

I think godzilla 85 has a lot of votes mainly because people want to see it and its almost impossible to find thanks to the rights debacle. Good luck getting that one, lets do lunch sometime...
