Go for the Blu Rays...I got them this week. Sea Monster looks amazing...Smog Monster is much better...and Gigan is also improved, tho not as much as the other 2 discs. Well worth the purchase!

Yup. I'm watching,G vs Gigan, the final one now and all the prints are stunning. The Smog Monster print is the best with Sea Monster next and Gigan third. The only critique I had with Gigan is that its noticeably grainier than the other films. Its still a beautiful print though. If you have a blu ray player, I highly recommend you pick up these 3 disks as this is probably the best they will look for a long time.

Just a quick question about the dub version of Smog Monster.
Does it have the English version of "Save The Earth"?
Just wondering since the older version just had the Jaoanese version in both languages.

Well that's kinda annoying that they did that again (just having the Japanese version of that song).
While it's a fun song in both languages, it's just so darn over the top in English.

Since I still haven't broken down & bought a Blu-Ray player (yet), no real reason to get the new set.

Unless there's some cool bonus features on the DVD version?

BTW we got these in our store today (technically last night) on both DVD & Blu-Ray.
We didn't get the Sony ones though.
We also got the Gamera releases that came out recently as well.

Well I woke up to three emails from B&N telling me the shipping on these have been delayed.....*grrrrr* I am like ummmm why? No explanation ever! If I manage to find them at my WallyWorld this afternoon I may just canceled. I haven't had an issue with them before doing this. Makes you wonder about this Ontrac shipping for Amazon if B&N uses the same. Makes no sense for the Sony DVDs to be delivered on time but not these! I can wait of course cause I have the Sony flicks to watch but still weird no?

I saw the DVDs for Hedorah and Gigan at Wal-Mart yesterday, but no BDs. Which really sucks: Amazon.ca says it probably won't ship my copies until mid-June at best. Time to go hunting elsewhere, even if I have to pay more.

EDIT: Paid more, but I'll be getting them next week. Cancelled my Amazon order and went with Indigo instead.

Still no update on mine being shipped. I have a Costco near me so I may stop by there this weekend if no update. Nothing at Wal-Mart, no DVDs of this release either.

So thanks to Sony's double feature cases and Kraken, I can now fit all of my Toho Kaiju movies onto one shelf and still have room to fit Vs Megalon when it comes out. SWEET!!

I think we ran out of the Blu-Ray versions.
Think they only got 2 of each movie.
We have them on DVD as well (don't think anybody has bought them though).

Hmmm....makes you wonder if Kraken didn't supply a lot of copies in it's initial release to meet demand. Or if suppliers even bothered getting them in. Seriously there ARE G-fans out there! You shouldn't have to always order things online now, but I guess that's how it goes these days.
