ATJ was really good in the first Kick-Ass, but then he roided up for the sequel and gave a really bad performance, imo.

He just seems bland in the trailers for Godzilla. And his low-key performance probably is a huge contrast from the shouting and scenery-chewing from Cranston.

New Olsen Interview in the Gazette, explaining how she broke put from under her older sister twins' shadows and is entering into the blockbuster zone with this (ignoring prior post credits scenes in a blockbuster): http://www.montrealgazette.com/entertai ... story.html
not a whole lot new but maybe worth a glance

Also IF YOU LIVE IN THE UK you can win a trip to tokyo by playing the find the toshiba game at the bottom here or purchasing one: http://www.toshiba.co.uk/innovation/generic/godzilla/
I found it and then read the terms which say "Dates of travel must be between 15th September – 15th December 2014 or
15th January – 28th May 2015, excluding national holidays and must include a Saturday night." more details are at http://www.toshiba.co.uk/ltr/images/eu/ ... _Cs_UK.pdf but I'm not eligible.

Finally just saw the Fiat commercial on tv. Did they copy Kia's online ad from a year ago?:

Nah, I wouldn't say its a copy at all, but rather a coincidence. Plus that Kia ad looks like crap.

Don't have tickets, but I do know I'll be catching an afternoon show on the 16th, and quite possibly another showing in the evening.

My friend works at the theater so he's getting me in for free on the 15th, then I'll probably pay to see it a few more times if I like it enough. Fingers crossed.

Awakening is an official part of the merch and as such any scanning of pages for sharing here would dall under bootleg rules (ie banned). Even if that weren't the case, I'd rather not see or hear much about it. Word is it's loaded with spoilers for the film.

One thing about the score not having a theme; it is only an hr or so long right? So maybe that first theme shows up repeatedly for godzilla.
Having just beat the iOS strike zone game where the score shows up I can say the themes used in that game fit and the game itself wasn't spoilery.

It just probably means that the music in the film is much more ambient in tone. Like music is only used when necessary.

That would be a refreshing change from the "wall of noise" soundtracks most blockbuster-type (and seemingly almost all) movies use nowadays. As a lover of older films, I miss having scenes where people talk or drive or walk somewhere that isn't covered in boring, serves-no-purpose "music" composed by folks who only seem intent on filling every second of motion picture runtime with music, rather than carefully constructed pieces only designed to add something to what's happening on screen. Director's are equally guilty for allowing this practice to take plac1e, and worse - encouraging it.

I'm really loving the soundtrack, a lot of it reminds me of Godzilla's theme from Godzilla Unleashed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPv5XPlMsrs

I'm taking leave from work on the afternoon of the 15th, and have booked in for an early afternoon showing in 2D. Now I just need to keep myself from setting my expectations unrealistically high. Difficult, considering how good the trailers make it look.
